Qualified applicants make less than 80 percent of the area median income and become full partners in the work of building or rehabilitating the future home. In order to become a Habitat homeowner, the applicant must meet the following criteria,
Have a demonstrated need for housing. Have a sufficient, stable and verifiable household income to support monthly mortgage payments. Mortgage payments do not exceed 30 percent of the homeowner’s household income.
Be willing to complete 200-300 hours of sweat equity. These hours are completed on the build sites and through time spent at a nine-part education series homeowners are required to complete prior to moving into their home
