The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) is the largest public transit agency in Iowa. DART provides resources for those who vanpool, walk, or bike. These services connect thousands of people every day to jobs, school, medical appointments, entertainment and more.

DART serves Altoona, Ankeny, Bondurant, Clive, Des Moines, Grimes, Johnston, Pleasant Hill, Polk County, Urbandale, West Des Moines and Windsor Heights.

DART operates a family of transportation services that make getting around Greater Des Moines easier and more convenient. Our fleet of 150 buses travel more than 15,000 miles daily throughout the region, making trips to shopping malls, major business districts, residential areas and schools.

County-wide transit service serving the general public with priority for the elderly and handicapped. Transportation operates on a regular schedule providing both local and out-of-area door-to-door service.

Accessible intercity bus services are available to the general public of all ages. Services operate on regularly scheduled bus routes between 29 Nebraska Panhandle communities. Advanced paid reservations are required by 12 pm the business day (Mon-Fri) prior to travel requested. Discounts are available for individuals meeting eligibility requirements or for reservations paid 3 days in advance.

Routes run Monday through Saturday.

Passengers are able to make connections to national bus providers, regional airports, healthcare, business, shopping, education and other vital services.

A weekly route between the Nebraska Panhandle and Pine Ridge, SD operates on Wednesdays.

Accessible public transportation in the City of Ravenna.
Marshalltown Municipal Transit services include fixed route public transportation, as well as paratransit transportation for those unable to use the fixed route system. Vehicles are outfitted with lifts or ramps. Premium Paratransit Service provides same-day service, and service to those living beyond 3/4 mile from the fixed route.

AMTRAK provides train transportation nationwide. Iowa Stations: Burlington, Creston, Davenport, Fort Madison, Mt. Pleasant, Osceola and Ottumwa. Disaster Transportation may be provided during major disasters such as Hurricane Katrina.
