Rides free of charge for cancer patients to and from cancer-related appointments. Two day notice is recommended. Rides are based upon volunteer availability.
Consumer Directed Attendant Care services provide assistance with dressing, personal cares, cooking, toileting, transferring, ambulation, mobility, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, minor wound care, financial and scheduling assistance, communicating with others, transportation to and from the doctor, essential shopping, picking up medication from the pharmacy, and medication assistance.
Engages qualified volunteer drivers in providing Story County residents with safe and reliable transportation to and from medical appointments and other essential services. Although not exclusive, our priority is serving Story County's older adult population.
Advises and aids veterans and their dependents in applying for federal benefits through compensation or pension claims. Emergency financial assistance for basic necessities such as rent or mortgage payments, utilities and food may be available for Veterans and their dependents. Can also assists with applications for benefits made available by federal, state or local laws.
Provides rides to medical appointments to the VA Hospital in either Knoxville or Des Moines. Call at least 5 days ahead with the date of appointment and the time and location.

Volunteers, when available, provide transportation to medical appointments within a 90 mile radius or gas card assistance to get to medical appointments (if a licensed and insured vehicle is available for use).

Includes home, hospital, and office visits; health and safety education; transportation in Norfolk and to/from Santee and Winnebago Indian Health Services Facilities for appointments; making appointments; and calling in and delivering prescriptions. A 24 hour notice is required for transportation.
Non-emergency transportation for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Medicaid, and Long-Term Care programs. Medical transportation is authorized from home and back for medical services that are covered by the client's program. Non-medical transportation is authorized from home and back for services that are covered by the client's program.
Provides public transit services to all citizens and visitors of Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Story, and Warren counties. The service is open for anyone for any reason regardless of age, income, or disability status. All HIRTA vehicles are ADA-accessible.
Provides transportation to out-of-town medical appointments for people in the greater Grinnell area. Will travel to Iowa City, Des Moines, Marshalltown, and Newton.
