Offers a free program for low-income, young adults in need of a certificate of high school equivalency (HSE/GED). Services include a 6-month program of education, occupational skills development in construction and other career pathways, support services, and leadership development. An additional 12 months of aftercare is provided.

Students get the opportunity to connect to community resources for support and possible financial assistance as well as career exploration and preparation. Individuals must attend HSED orientation to register for classes. All classes are mandatory.

Services aim to help students acquire an Illinois high school diploma, formerly known as a high school equivalency certificate, and acquire English language skills for English language learners by offering language acquisition (ELA) classes. Will also help students with the transition into college or a career pathway by offering career readiness curriculum in HSE and ELA classes and assistance transitioning into on-the-job training, college, and careers.

These courses help immigrants gain knowledge of American culture, institutions, and ideals, as well as U.S. history, the Constitution, and the structure and functions of government.

- College (core) classes for DMACC's associate degree programs and non-credit classes for personal and professional development.

All colleges within the IECC district provide tuition-free classes and serve as official testing sites for students seeking a high school equivalency certificate, including the GED. 

Programs administer the required examinations in math, reading, writing, science, and social studies, as well as the Constitution exam. Classes are available in 8- or 16-week formats with day and evening scheduling options to prepare adults and eligible minors to obtain their high school equivalency credentials.
