Offers family-centered care and comprehensive obstetric services. Services include hospital delivery, childbirth education opportunities, lactation consulting (with possible home visits), car seat checks and other health and safety screening, as well as, cultural accommodations.

Child safety seat inspections provided free of charge. If a new seat is needed, they are sold at a reduced rate if the child receives Medicaid, Kids Connection, or WIC.

Offers free Stop the Bleed/Hands Only CPR Classes, Child Car Safety Seat Checks, and BLS Healthcare Provider CPR Classes ($40).  All classes offered one time per month.

Early education and family support program free to all families with children prenatal to kindergarten entry. Parent educators provide home visits, developmental screenings, and resource and referral for early childhood resources in Harrison County. GetTogether meetings offered 12 or more times a year.

Bright Beginnings program for Harrison County families prenatally and with children under the age of three.

Child passenger safety program provides seat checks and education regarding car seats.

Diaper Bank, "No Child Wet Behind", for Harrison County families only.

Book and toy lending library for registered child care providers and early elementary teachers.

Provides the following WIC services evaluation, education and support on nutrition and breast feeding for expectant and breastfeeding mothers, available both at the Public Health office and through home visits.

Also offers a child passenger safety program, including education on car seat installation and provision of a new car seat at no cost upon completion of the program.

Provides car seat safety checks and proper car seat installation assistance for caregivers through a Certified Passenger Safety Technician to help ensure children are safely secured while traveling.

Provides baby/child car seat checks to make sure the car seats are in working order and installed correctly. Those who qualify may be receive a free car seat

Works to prevent unintentional injury to our community’s children.

Provides adult education classes, in home safety and child passenger safety. Also provides a variety of injury prevention education for ages 3-19. Public health educators are available to present safety information upon request.

Assists the residents of Sarpy and Cass counties in understanding and implementing strategies to prevent unintentional childhood injury.

Offers certified Technicians on staff at each center to answer questions on proper installation and use of car seats.

Provides certified technicians who give free, hands-on child safety seat inspections and offer advice and guidelines. The goal of this program is to make sure children (one month to 12 years old) are in the right seat and riding safe.

Offers several officers who are nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Seat Technicians and are available to assist citizens in answering any questions they may have, as well as making sure:

- It has not been recalled.

- It is correct for your child.

- It meets safety standards.

- The child passenger seat is installed correctly.

Assists individuals to assume responsibility for their own health, through education and outreach services.

Responds to public information needs or issues related to health and safety. Works collaboratively with other community entities to formulate responses to issues impacting public health.

Major program areas include:

- CHRONIC DISEASE PREVENTION PROGRAM: Promotes activities that encourage healthy living, embrace health screenings for early detection of disease, and encourage self-management of existing diseases. Works to reduce chronic diseases among racial/ethnic minorities and other vulnerable residents. Activities include community education on topics like reducing childhood obesity, increasing physical activity and healthy eating habits, diabetes prevention or control, learning to manage chronic health problems, and colorectal cancer awareness.

- INJURY PREVENTION and SAFE KIDS: Coordinates activities directed at reducing unintentional injuries and death. Print material, videos, and presentations are available on bike and pedestrian safety, fall prevention, child passenger safety/occupant restraints, and home safety. - TOBACCO PREVENTION AND CONTROL: Provides tobacco prevention information/education to schools, businesses and the community, and cessation referrals.

Provides lead testing and car seat safety. 

Child Passenger Safety Technicians will inspect and help install a child's car seat, at no cost, to make sure it is safe. Car seat checks are offered year-round, by appointment.

Offers assistance in installing a child safety seat, by a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician.
