Substance abuse prevention through the Healthy Communities Initiative. Coalition works together to provide education and activities to reduce drug and alcohol use among youth.

Dental screenings and education offered to preschool and grade school children. Sealants and fluoride treatments also available.

Childhood and adult vaccines for all people are provided at each of Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department's three locations in Norfolk, Tekamah and Wisner. Includes vaccines for those who are privately insured, Medicare, Medicaid and those who are uninsured.

Provides education and community outreach on lead poisoning prevention.

Monitors blood lead levels of all children and provides appropriate follow-up.

Conducts environmental home inspections and provides recommendations and resources.

Provides blood lead screening for children under 7 and those who are pregnant and/or breastfeeding. Offers testing at DCHD clinic on Tuesdays from 8:30 am to 11 am or at various community outreach events.

Including blood pressure screenings, breastfeeding peer counseling, car safety seat program, child and adult immunizations, developmental screenings, family case management, health screenings, Illinois tobacco-free communities' program, lead poisoning prevention program, WIC program, lice education, nutrition education, pregnancy testing, TB screenings and tests, vision and hearing screenings, and the women's health clinic. 

Offers traditional speech and language therapy, social communication groups, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) services, pediatric feeding and swallowing services, parent training programs to teach caregivers to support speech, language and communication development in the home.

Promotes preventative healthcare practices including responsible behaviors to prevent unintended pregnancy and reduce the incidence of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

Testing available for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.

Offers diabetes screening, drug and alcohol testing, TB testing (except Thu), urine pregnancy tests, physicals for school, sports, well child, adult, pre-employment. Lead poisoning screening, and blood pressure screening and immunizations.

Offers STI testing, education and treatment, counseling including abstinence and risk reduction, and treatment including confidential HIV testing, counseling, and referral.

Provides diabetic education, dietician appointments, glucometers and test strips, may be available to the uninsured or underinsured.

- Parenting education (HOPE program).

Affordable, comprehensive primary health care especially for those with limited resources. Includes general physical exams and immunizations.

Services are provided regardless of ability to pay through a sliding fee discount program. Fees are calculated based on household size and documented annual income. All patients are eligible to apply for the sliding fee discount, even those with insurance.

Dental Clinic offers preventative dental services including: X-rays, exams, cleanings, fillings and extractions.

Pharmacy services offered to patients. Those eligible for the sliding fee program receive their medications at 30 to 50% below the retail market. Kohl's, Walgreens, Genoa, and Walmart fill all medications. Mobile Medical Clinic services, in which a van visits different locations to see patients.

HIV/STD testing provides confidential HIV/AIDS testing and counseling.

Transportation program provides a limited number of cab vouchers.

Mental health services are provided in-house through a partnership with Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska, as well as being referred out to collaborating behavioral health agencies.

Prenatal care for women.

Radiology has certified x-ray technicians to provide limited x-ray services.

Medication assistance programs help uninsured and underinsured patients apply to various pharmaceutical companies. Staff complete applications for patients to obtain their medication at an affordable cost.

Translation services offered to non-English speaking patients. Languages include Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Kurdish, Burmese, Karen, and Thai.

Serves as a primary care medical home specializing in sexual health and wellness. Services include:

-- Education, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

-- HIV specialty care.

-- Outreach and prevention for high risk populations.

-- STI testing and treatment.

-- Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).

For those infected with HIV/AIDS, Open Door Health Center provides the following services:

-- Medical primary care.

-- Case management.

-- Psychiatric/mental health support.

-- Substance abuse therapy.

-- Support groups.

-- Oral health.

Offers sexual health and wellness services including free pregnancy tests, STD/STI testing, HIV testing and treatment (PrEP/PEP), Case Management, anal Pap Smears, free condoms, outreach and prevention education, and more.
