Emergency operations center for the County, which handles emergency response incidents, including accidents, fires, floods, storms and other disasters. Also responsible for requesting federal assistance after a disaster.

Offers access to informational, educational, and recreational resources to the community, including online resources, genealogy, and language learning. The library also offers free access to computers, Wi-Fi, meeting spaces, and events for all ages.

PRINTING, COPYING, SCANNING, FAX SERVICES: individuals may print files from the library's computers or by using the remote printing service to print from any mobile device, laptop, or home computer to the library's printers. (Documents will be saved in the print queue for 2 days.)

Offers a daytime cooling center for people and their pets to get out of the heat and cool off during the ARL's regular business hours.
Warming center available on days when temperatures are below freezing (32 degrees Farenheit). Men, women, and families are welcome to the space without residing in the center itself. Lunch and dinner are available to guests at 12 PM and 6 PM. All guests will have access to any Open Door Mission partner agencies on-site.
Warming/Cooling Centers are utilized during extreme heating or cooling events. These locations include public libraries, shopping centers, and community/senior centers. Daily shelter with a capacity for 10-15 people. Meals provided daily. Showers also available.

GDC serves low income, homeless and/or recently incarcerated individuals. Services include:

The Warming Shelter - Sioux City offers a temporary emergency shelter for people who do not have a warm place to stay out of the cold and winter weather. It is open from November 1st to April 30th annually.

We welcome any and all who are in need of shelter, provide support necessary to help these individuals get their lives on track, provide shelter, food, and hope, stability, and finally help them on a path to reintegrate into the community and become a contributor to the region.

During cold weather months where the temperature is forecast to be at or below 20 degrees, Siena Francis House will serve as a Warming Center, providing a warm dry place for those with no housing. Access to showers, warm clothes, food and shelter will be available. Lunch will be provided 11:30 am-12:30 pm. Limited transportation may be available for individuals with transportation barriers.
