R Place Peer Recovery Center is a stigma free community center for adults experiencing mental illness, including substance use disorder. We offer a fun, uplifting wellness center staffed by Peer Support Specialists (PSS's). We use the term "Peer" to refer to any adult 18+ who has a mental health concern. Our Peer Support Specialists are persons with lived experience of mental illness(es) and Recovery from that/those illness(es). We are all on the same level at R Place, because we are all Peers. We define Recovery as regaining one's life back from mental illness(es) including addiction, and successfully managing symptoms - rather than having our lives be all about our illness(es) or having the illness(es) run our lives.
