Services range from domiciliary care (for members able to essentially care for themselves), to skilled nursing care.

Nebraska Veterans' Homes has four veterans homes located in Bellevue, Grand Island, Norfolk, and Scottsbluff.

The homes provide domiciliary and nursing home care and subsistence to persons who served in the armed forces of the United States during a period of was as defined in Nebraska Revised Statute 80-401.01 and discharged or otherwise separated with a characterization of honorable or general (under honorable conditions); was a bona fide resident of the State of Nebraska for at least two years and has become disabled due to service, old age, or otherwise to the extent that it would prevent earning a livelihood. Admission may include the spouse, surviving spouse or parent as defined in Nebraska Revised Statute 80-316. Applications must be made through the County Service Officer for submission to the Director of Veterans' Affairs for approval of statutory eligibility requirements and referral to the Veterans' Home for medical eligibility and further processing. The Veterans' Homes are managed by the Department of Health and Human Services.
