LINCOLN TAX PREPARATION ASSISTANCE | LINCOLN VITA / EITC COALITION

Provides free tax credit clinics and prepares free federal and state income taxes for underserved populations.

Starting January 2024, visit https://vita.unl.edu to schedule an appointment. Tax appointments begin January 11th and run through April 12th and are available at multiple sites in Lincoln and other Nebraska cities. To see the days and times for all the locations, visit the website to download the site schedule.

When scheduling an appointment, choose a site location and date. All location will be face-to-face; virtual preparation is available in addition to facilitated self-assistance (schedule an appointment under the 'Need Assistance' tab).

If Lincoln Public School and/or UNL is closed due to bad weather, all VITA sites are closed. In the event of bad weather, tune to KFOR 1240 for cancelations. Spanish-language assistance is available at Nebraska East Union.

The scope of work that can be done within the VITA site is defined by the IRS. If a return is considered "out of scope" for the site, VITA Volunteers will not be able to prepare the return.
