Eligibility

Must be a resident of Vermilion County, pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum individuals, have infants and children up to age 5 who have a medical or nutritional health risk, meet income requirements, or be members of SNAP, Medicaid, or TANF

Required documents

WIC ID card if already issued, birth certificate for new infant or children, immunization records for infant or children, social security card, photo ID, proof of pregnancy from doctor or health clinic, proof of income, proof of residence

Description

The Women, Infant, and Children Program (WIC) is nationwide nutrition education and breastfeeding program that helps pregnant women, new mothers, babies, and young children (up to age 5) eat well, learn about nutrition, and stay healthy. WIC provides nutrition education and counseling, nutritious foods, and referrals to health and other social services as needs.
