Eligibility

Open to households with income is at/below 200% Federal Poverty level, a person who participates or has family members who participate in certain other benefit programs, such as SNAP, SSI, TANF, automatically meets the eligibility requirement

Required documents

Poof of household gross income for the last 30 days, current energy bill, Social Security number for everyone in the household, TANF medical card for anyone receiving benefits, rental agreement or receipt that shows the amount of rent

LIHEAP (low income home energy assistance program) provides assistance with a utility bill. Applications are accepted November 1 – April 30; for elderly or disabled individuals applications are accepted starting October 1. Income must fall within 200% of poverty guideline. Call for an appointment. A letter has been sent to those who may be eligible for early application in August or September.

**This program is not designed to pay a household's total energy costs. The program will provide supplemental assistance based on several factors. This is a one-time payment to your energy provider.
