Eligibility

Must have arrived in the US with refugee status, have been in the US for less than 5 years (if saving for a car, less than 3 years), have income and be at or below 200% of poverty guidelines

Required documents

Valid ID, I-94 form or Green Card, proof of income (one month of paystubs for every working member of your family)

Description

Provides financial education to former refugees to help them build understanding of the U.S. banking and financial system. Courses in financially literacy are offered as well as financial assessment tools to help determine financial stability. The program also offers refugee's the chance to create a savings account with the intent to buy a car, home, business or education. LSI will contribute to the savings account by providing matching funds. Matching funds can only be received by completing the requred trainings.
