STATE SERVICE VETERAN SERVICES | NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS' AFFAIRS

Helps veterans and their family members apply for state, federal, and other benefits. Available at no cost to veterans or their families.

Services include:

-- Reviewing service records and determining benefit eligibility for veterans, spouses, and dependents

-- Assisting with the accurate completion of forms

-- Transmitting completed claims to the proper state or federal officials

-- Assisting and managing both initial appeals and appeals to the Board of Veterans Affairs

-- Advising applicants with claims before the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs, including developing accurate disability claims, following VA's requirements to assist claimants with developing claims, assisting with scheduling Compensation and Pension examinations, explaining VA Disability rating criteria, and facilitating correspondence between VA and veteran claimant.
