CRISIS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM | NORTHEAST IOWA COMMUNITY ACTION CORPORATION (NEICAC)
Can assist, when funding is available, eligible individuals and families with limited resources in need of help with past due or disconnected utilities, past due rent or mortgage, emergency medical and/or dental services, costs to engage in Mental Health services, costs to maintain or gain internet or phone access, transportation, vehicle repairs, swim lessons, seasonal swim passes, and costs associated with participation in extracurricular activities.
**While some costs may be covered under Federal funding sources, the Crisis Assistance program is largely funded by grants and donations. All Assistance identified above is dependent on available funding.

Required documents
All forms of income verification (excluding child support income) for all members residing in the household is required, to include previous 30 days income or previous year's taxes, documentation indicating the cost of the need (invoice, quote, past due utility bill or rent/eviction notice from landlord, etc.) is also needed to process assistance upon eligibility determination, NEICAC verifies household income for crisis assistance eligibility once per year between 10/1-9/30, households who were eligible for LIHEAP in the program year are deemed income eligible for Crisis Assistance
Eligibility
Must live in Allamakee, Bremer, Chickasaw Clayton, Fayette, Howard or Winneshiek County, household income set at 200% or below of the Federal Poverty Level
