EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE - RENT | CAPITAL TOWNSHIP

If client is eligible and has an eviction notice, the township can help with up to $300 in rental assistance for a single person or married couple, or $400 if children are in the home.


If client has been a shelter resident for at least 1 week of the last 10 days, the township can help with first month's rent (Capital Township only). Must be able to provide proof that client can afford the rent of where they are moving to or living at. Must be an address in Capital Township. Must live in a dwelling separate from the owner of the property. Available once every two years.

Items needed at Intake include Eviction notice from owner of property or residency letter from shelter, Proof of ALL income for last 60 days and proof of ongoing income, Social Security cards for entire household, Current lease or statement from landlord dated in the last 30 days, Photo ID for all adults in household, Most current CWLP bill, Section 8 adjustment letter (if applicable), All adults in household must be at the intake meeting.
