HOMELESS EDUCATIONAL SERVICES | REGIONAL OFFICE OF EDUCATION #4 (BOONE, WINNEBAGO)

The local homeless education liaison works with homeless children to ensure:

- Immediate school enrollment (at either the child's school of origin or current attendance area where child is currently eligible).

- Remain enrolled in selected school as long as homelessness ensues or, if the student becomes permanently housed, until the end of the academic year.

- Priority in certain preschool programs.

- Participate in support programs and other school related activities.

- Obtain information regarding fee waivers, free uniforms, and low-cost medical referrals.

- Transportation services.
