The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) is the largest public transit agency in Iowa. DART provides resources for those who vanpool, walk, or bike. These services connect individuals every day to jobs, school, medical appointments, entertainment and more. DART serves Altoona, Ankeny, Clive, Des Moines, Johnston, Polk County, Urbandale, West Des Moines and Windsor Heights. DART operates a family of transportation services that make getting around Greater Des Moines easier and more convenient. Our fleet of 150 buses travel more than 15,000 miles daily throughout the region, making trips to shopping malls, major business districts, residential areas and schools. DART services include:
