County Clerk's office is the official record keeper for births, marriages/civil unions, and deaths that occur in the City of Springfield and Sangamon County. The Department of Vital Records provides certified copies of these documents for eligible individuals upon request. The Sangamon County Clerk's office also issues marriage and civil union licenses to eligible couples.
