Provides help, training and support so adults with developmental disabilities can explore careers, learn job skills and obtain or maintain competitive community employment. Services are provided to clients who need support because of their disabilities.

A job should pay at least minimum wage (or what other workers usually earn) and include the same benefits other workers get. The person works with other employees in a regular workplace, not separated from others. The job should also match what the person likes and what they want to do in the future.

If the person needs help at work, a job coach can give support. This support is personal and continues as long as needed to help the person keep their job and do better over time.
