EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION SUPPORT | NEBRASKA ASSOCIATION FOR THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG CHILDREN, INC.

Nebraska AEYC provides opportunities that promote excellence in early childhood for Nebraska's early childhood educators, children and families through education, advocacy and leadership.

Programs offered include:
T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood NEBRASKA- T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Education and Compensation Helps) and Child Care WAGE$ Nebraska are designed to provide educational scholarships and salary supplements for those working with young children. The scholarships and supplements address three key issues facing those in the early care and education field: the educational level of the staff, high turnover rates, and low wages.

Quality Enhancement Projects work with a select group of participants who are interested in improving the quality of their early childhood programs. A mentor, in partnership with the childcare provider, utilizes the results of the Environment Rating Scales as a foundation for program improvement. The childcare provider and the mentor create a plan, based on the rating scales, to acquire materials and/or training to improve the quality of their program.

Rooted in Relationships/Pyramid Implementation Project works with childcare programs in Lancaster County to implement the Pyramid Model which supports the social-emotional development of young children.

Circle of Security Parenting programs are designed to help parents learn how to respond to their child's needs in a way that enhances their connection with them and gives children a feeling of security and confidence so they can explore, learn, grow and build positive relationships.

NAEYC Accreditation supports early care and education programs pursuing voluntary NAEYC Accreditation. Support activities include conference calls, training events, small grants for materials and staff support.
