4-H YOUTH DEVELOPMENT | IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION AND OUTREACH CLAYTON COUNTY
4-H is the youth component of the ISU Extension and Outreach System. It serves young people from first grade through one year out of high school. Members participate in individual and group learning opportunities in a safe environment that teach skills through an experiential process. A variety of educational and recreational clubs and activities are led by adult volunteers. Project and activity areas include arts and communication, plant and soil sciences, animal sciences, environmental sciences, mechanical sciences, home and health, and family living. The programs focus on positive youth development, community service, and communication and life skills development.
