Controls and extinguishes fires, delivers Advanced Life Support emergency medical services, conducts business inspections and provides public safety education.
Training division provides programs on structural firefighting, vehicle accident extrication, hazardous materials, and emergency medical services.
Public education through public speaking, fire education, smoke detectors, and audio visual programs.
Lincoln Chaplaincy Corps Clergy from the community volunteer at least one 24-hour duty day to the city to respond to calls for assistance from the Police and Fire Departments. Chaplains are provided monthly in-service training, a radio, city car, pager and proper identification; specific services include counseling and referral, follow-up to Police and Fire Department calls, counseling to Police/Fire employees, community-based response, and death notification calls.
