Provides law enforcement services to Pocahontas County residents, excluding those in Fonda, Laurens, and Pocahontas who have their own police departments. Services include operating correctional facilities for the detention, confinement, treatment, employment, training, and discipline of individuals charged with or convicted of crimes. Additionally, the agency manages 911 services, offering a telephone response system staffed by trained personnel to assess emergency assistance requests and dispatch appropriate emergency response agencies such as law enforcement, fire, paramedics/EMTs, or ambulance services.
