The ION team works with homeowners to make external repairs, connect to resources, and navigate the home repair system. Will also collaborate with partner organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding Together, Polk County Emergency Repair, and Neighborhood Finance Corporation to get repairs done.

Eligibility
Homeowners must have fee simple title (no contract sales or lease holds) to the property for at a minimum of 1-year, filed for Homestead Credit, be current on all real estate taxes and special assessments, located within Des Moines' jurisdiction, and the combined income of everyone living in the house, regardless of relation, must be below the HUD 80% Annual Income Limit, Homeowners must occupy the house as their primary residence and must pay all costs associated with ownership and maintenance (mortgage, taxes, insurance, utilities), adjusted assessed value of the home including land cannot exceed $242,000
Fee
There are no direct fees, but there will be a lien placed against a property for a forgivable and/or deferred loan, Forgivable and deferred loans are based on the extent of the exterior repairs needed
