CIVIC ENGAGEMENT | SOUTHWEST SUBURBAN IMMIGRANT PROJECT

Prepares community and allies to participate in the systems of local, state, and national politics, organize citizenship, and non-partisan voter registration.


Programs offered:
- DACA: Certain people who came to the United States as children and meet several guidelines can request consideration of deferred action for a period of two years, subject to renewal
- Citizenship Preparation Classes: Offers immigrants and refugees a review of English language skills and U.S. history, politics, and civics knowledge needed to pass the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services naturalization interview
-Know Your Rights Trainings: Trainings assist families be better prepared when encountering law enforcement to ensure their rights are protected
