Provides permits for public water, waste system operating permits, floodplain permits, dam safety inspections, and sanitary landfill regulation. Services may also include hazardous waste management programs, waste minimization programs, recycling programs, solid waste grants, composting, infectious waste, household hazardous materials (HHM) program, toxic clean-up days (TCDs), capacity assurance plan, and low-level radioactive waste.

Waste management issues bulletins or otherwise inform the public of traffic accidents, train derailments, fires or accidents in chemical manufacturing plants or other incidents involving the release of chemical substances which pose a threat to the environment or public health. Also provides information on programs for recycling, solid waste grants, composting, infectious waste, household hazardous materials (HHM) program, toxic clean-up days (TCDs), capacity assurance plan, low-level radioactive waste.
