WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT | WABASH AREA DEVELOPMENT
Provides education and training in approved training programs in local community colleges. Can help with the cost of tuition, books, fees, required tools, and any additional items required by the program. Program also provides a work experience and on-the-job training component.
Work Experience offers subsidizes wages at a local employer for 1 to 6 months to help customer gain experience to gain permanent employment.
On-The-Job Training offers subsidizes half of hourly wage for a set period of time at a local employer with the intention of the employer retaining the customer after training is complete.

Must meet one of these categories - dislocated worker (terminated/laid off, or received notification of termination/layoff, eligible for or has exhausted unemployment compensation, unlikely to return to previous occupation because it is in a low-growth industry, was self-employed but now unemployed due to natural disaster or local economic conditions, displaced homemaker, spouse of active duty Armed Forces service member), low-income (receives SNAP benefits, monthly family income meets eligibility requirements, disabled individual who meets income eligibility requirements), youth (ages 16-24, receives food stamps or qualifies free or reduced price lunch, foster child or teen parent)
