Al-Anon and Alateen meetings provide an opportunity for individuals to connect with others in a confidential, anonymous setting for sharing of a common experience. Closed meetings are for all Al-Anon members and potential members; anyone whose personal life is or has been affected by close contact with a problem drinker. Open meetings allow members and potential members as well as people who are not families and friends of alcoholics but who are interested in learning about Al-Anon Family Groups. Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette, Howard, and Winneshiek counties are part of Area 24.
