COLLEGE ACCESS AND SUCCESS | COLLEGE POSSIBLE
Program designed to make collegeadmission and success possible for students from low-income backgrounds byproviding the tools, strategies and support needed to navigate and overcomesystemic barriers to college graduation.
Uses a near-peer coaching model, powered by AmeriCorps, to create an affordable, scalable, effective solution to provide intensivementorships and role-model support to students. AmeriCorps coaches are recentcollege graduates who provide direct service and guidance to students throughevery stage of the college process from college admission to enrollment andpersistence, starting from a student's junior year of high school andcontinuing through college graduation.
Provides the followingcoaching services to eligible students:
-- College search and applicationguidance;
-- Financial literacy and financial aid consulting;
-- Enrollmentand high school-to-college transition coaching, including identifying academicinterests and majors;
-- Building social-emotional learning skills;
-- Professional communications and mentorship;
-- Academic expectations andresponsibilities;
-- Connection to campus resources and opportunities.
Allservices are provided at no cost to students or their families.
