Provides a safe place for all women and children of all ages who find themselves homeless due to circumstances beyond their control. The shelter program includes assistance, food, referrals and advocacy with community services. The length of a woman's stay can up to one year in emergency shelter.However, some women can get extensions if a move to permanent housing is imminent or they may move to Maria House or Francis Apartments to continue to work on their goals.

Emergency Shelter Services - Provides emergency/crisis short-term shelter for single women and women with children of any age, including male children (ages 13-17). The shelter provides a safe place to sleep, evening meal, laundry, and shower facilities. The length of stay is 30 days. Residents are encouraged to meet with the Emergency Shelter Lead Supervisor for long term stability plan


Transitional Shelter Services for Women with Children - Provides immediate relief to women, 18 and over, with children (male children must be 12 years of age or younger). In addition, provides life's basic needs - food, clothing, personal care items, laundry facilities, transportation, and telephones to make appointments. Supportive services provided include life skill classes, employment assistance, budgeting, family literacy, parenting classes, tutoring, and case management with a goal of finding and maintaining permanent housing.

Provides an emergency homeless shelter for women and children. While at the shelter, clients will be offered meals, laundry facilities, showers and other needed basic necessities.

Offers emergency, overnight shelter to men experiencing homelessness. Facility has 22 bunk beds, showers, laundry service, meals, and chapel services.

Provides overnight shelter, dinner, and breakfast for all men, women, and children.

Access point for the community's homeless veterans. Individuals and families who are at imminent risk of homelessness (with no house, apartment, etc. to stay tonight) will complete an assessment and receive help to find housing options.

Mini shelters are available for displaced persons who suffer loss of homes due to fire, tornadoes, transience, domestic disputes, or homelessness. Shelters are guarded and locations are confidential.

Homeless Permanent Supportive Housing
Assists homeless individuals and families in accessing housing programs. Eligible clients go through a need/risk assessment which will place them on a housing prioritization list. Various housing programs will select clients from the list as space and funds become available.

Offers a 24-hour a day, 60-bed emergency shelter for those who are homeless. Those staying at the shelter receive meals, showers, clothing, and other hygiene necessities.

Case managers work with individuals to help them apply for benefits, assist with sustainable income, and create sustainable budgets.

Emergency shelter for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Provides shelter, food, education and Christian counseling to homeless children, their parents, and single women. Works towards giving individuals the needed tools to obtain and maintain permanent housing.

EMERGENCY MEN'S HOUSING:

Overnight housing is available for single men. At 9 pm each evening, the gymnasium converts into a sleeping space. The gym can accommodate up to 45 men, but solutions can be made if there are more.


Guests have a designated space within the gym, a mattress, bedding and pillows, towels, and basic supplies. A locker and tub are also assigned for storage of personal items.


Overnight housing guests share a day room, bathroom, and laundry. This short-term overnight shelter is designed to help guests transition in to on-site apartment living while securing an income source.


The following is available to guests of MCSA: 24-hour staffing assistance; Food, clothing, and other basic need items; Educational opportunities and support programs; Gymnasium access; Computer access. Check-in for Overnight Housing is available daily from 6 am until 10 pm. Identification will be requested at the time of check-in.


EMERGENCY FAMILY AND SINGLE WOMEN'S HOUSING:

The Family & Individual Housing Units provide a secure living space for families with children and single women. Eight private rooms are available, and accommodations can be made for any size family. Each unit includes beds, bedding, pillows, towels, and basic supplies. Additional beds or cribs are available as needed.


The units share a large open living space, kitchenette, bathroom, and laundry. Space is always available for those in Muscatine County who need a place to stay.

Provides permanent housing to individuals and families who are either experiencing homelessness or are on the verge of homelessness.

Assists individuals and families in Clinton and Jackson Counties through Homelessness and Homelessness Prevention programs.

Provides shower facilities for those without access to private bathing facilities. Shower supplies/toiletries are not provided.

Also accepts applications for The Cottages, a neighborhood development with 50 houses created by the Siena Francis House. The homes are available to those who have experienced chronic homelessness and have a disability.

Access to shower and laundry facilities, telephone access computer access, and additional housing related supports. Drop-in services available to community members who need basic hygiene items, clothing, etc.

When funds are available:

Financial assistance for rent and utility bills. Vouchers available for food and thrift store. Laundry tokens available.

Emergency shelter voucher for the local motel for one night only; maximum of once per year.

Assistance with clothing and household items.

Gas vouchers for medical appointments and stranded individuals in Kearney.
