Provides assistance to individuals and families who are facing a crisis situation with food and/or shelter. Homeless prevention services can assist families who are facing eviction or utility disconnection in preventing their family from becoming homeless. Crisis funds may be available for one month’s rent, utilities, or groceries for a short period of time. This assistance is intended for individuals and families who need temporary, one-time assistance to resolve an emergency situation.

Offers an emergency shelter to all adults needing shelter. All new clients to the shelter are encouraged to work with Primary Health Care Centralized Intake upon entering the shelter. Provides a temporary homeless shelter for single women and women with children. While at the shelter, clients will be offered beds, meals, laundry facilities, showers and other needed basic necessities. Individuals must be currently homeless with no other housing options. This shelter is not a domestic crisis shelter but may take domestic violence victims as long as they are not considered volatile (meaning someone coming after them). This is a safety precaution for other residents staying at the shelter. Shelter may not accept individuals who are disabled (needing assisted living surroundings), the shelter is not set up for that. Individuals on prescribed meds must be on current meds for safety of other residents but (there may be exceptions) for certain medications. Shelter does not accept sex offenders and fugitives of the law. Individuals that are using illegal drugs or alcohol will be required to get into an outpatient rehabilitation center in the area for the first week living at the shelter. Upon joining a rehab individuals must stay clean to reside at the shelter; length of stay will depend on the resident's cooperation and willingness to help themselves.

Provides a 70-bed shelter for adults, children, and families experiencing homelessness. Stays range from several days to a maximum of 45 days. A men's dorm, women's dorm and family rooms are provided. Services may also include cold breakfast and dinner meals to all residents during stay.

Offers an emergency homeless shelter that operates from Aug1- May 31 each year. The shelter provides meals, beds, showers, and laundry facilities. It is a structured program which includes rules, case management, classes, and require participation in an individual service plan.

Champaign County Regional Planning Commission
CIH conducts an intake and assessment for households experiencing homelessness in Champaign County, IL. Based on eligibility and priority, CIH links households experiencing homelessness with shelter, transitional, and permanent housing program options when there are program vacancies. In addition, CIH can make referrals to local community resources based on the needs of individuals served. Individuals and families can request a CIH at partner agencies.

Cold Weather Shelter "Cold Cots": During the winter months when the temperatures are severely cold, the cold weather shelter opens expanding the 30 bed men's shelter to handle an additional 20 men providing them with a cot, a meal, and access to showers while space is available.

SHELTER offers short term shelter to meet the basic needs such as shelter, meals, and daily essentials, including clothing, hygiene items and laundry. Case management and referral services are provided with no fees. Please call ahead Monday- Friday between 8am-4:30pm to check on availability.
LONG-TERM LIFE RECOVERY for women (with or without children) is available to clients who are open and teachable with a willingness to change to do the hard work of life recovery. Women are offered an opportunity to work on their recovery and life skills for up to 24 months. Focus in on preparation to live independently while continuing to work on spiritual growth, recovery, basic life and work skills. Life recovery clients are required to save 75% of any income toward their transition fund.

Siena Francis House Emergency Shelter - Women's Shelter and Men's Shelter
Provides 104 bed emergency shelter for women. Services include three meals daily, advocacy and case management, sack lunched for those going to work, and access to medical, dental and mental health care resources.
Health clinics include:
- Charles Drew Medical Clinic: Schedule varies weekly. Patients must schedule appointment through clinic; call (402) 345-9860.
- Visiting Nurse Association: Monday and Thursday in the Services Center from 1:30 pm-3:30 pm, and in the Baright Shelter from 3:30 pm-7 pm.
- Creighton University Magis Clinic: Saturday afternoon medical clinic.
