Provides accessible and unbiased financial education programming to youth and adults in schools and community-based organizations across Nebraska.

Provides financial education to former refugees to help them build understanding of the U.S. banking and financial system. Courses in financially literacy are offered as well as financial assessment tools to help determine financial stability. The program also offers refugee's the chance to create a savings account with the intent to buy a car, home, business or education. LSI will contribute to the savings account by providing matching funds. Matching funds can only be received by completing the requred trainings.

Provides budget and debt counseling and education. Also offers HUD-approved Housing Counseling and education including: pre-purchase, mortgage default and foreclosure prevention, bankruptcy counseling and education and credit report review.

Debt Management Program (DMP) also available for clients to pay unsecured debt (credit cards and loans) at reduced interest and fees.

Provides pre-purchase home buyer classes and counseling help clients decide whether homeownership is the best decision for them. These classes and counseling may also qualify clients for substantial down payment assistance programs.

Foreclosure avoidance and default intervention counseling is designed to help with whatever options there may be to save clients' homes, or get caught up on payments.

Reverse Mortgage Counseling is available for seniors desiring to stay in their homes by using their equity to produce lump sums for current needs, annuity payments and lines of credit for ongoing needs.

Offers a 3-week program teaching students about personal finance and money management. Program begins in early June with classes only meeting three times a week in the afternoon. Transportation will be provided to students who need it.
