Provides circuit court services to Edgar County residents. It is a non-judicial office of the Judicial Branch of Illinois State government. Maintains all Circuit Court records for both civil and criminal cases and also collect fines and assessments ordered by the court, to be disbursed accordingly.

Provides management and maintenance of all trial court records; process fines, fees, and court costs owed to the state; child support checks and civil judgments owned to litigants; and maintain record of liens on property.

Provides public services related to court proceedings and maintains records of all court records. This office receives, files, and maintains all of the documentation that comprises the official court record for the following case types: felonies, misdemeanors, traffic violations, ordinance violations, civil, family, or paternity court cases, juvenile injunctions, restraining orders, and small claims court cases. This office also issues copies of divorce decrees for divorces granted in the county court and provides assistance and necessary forms needed to file a petition with the court for a legal name change.

Provides supervision for delinquent youth under 18 who are involved with the court and or probation systems.

Offers drug court that serves non-violent offenders with substance use addictions. Program aims to lessen/reduce offender's charges, penalties, or sentences. 

Provides the maintenance of official court records, the recording of documents for filing and appeals, and the provision of data and information to various government agencies and the general public. Additionally, the Circuit Clerk’s office is tasked with the collection of fines, fees, costs, and penalties as mandated by state statutes and County Board resolutions, and the subsequent distribution of these funds on a monthly basis to the county, state, municipalities, and townships.
