Serves victims, witnesses, family members and significant others who have been a victim or a witness to a crime. The Primary goal is to assist the victims of crime in obtaining available services and reduce the trauma of victimization. This is accomplished by assisting a victim through legal process and ensuring direct services to meet special needs of the victim is met.

Provides victims and concerned citizens with a toll-free number they can call for up-to-date information on the custody and/or case status of an offender. Callers may choose to register for automatic notification through Illinois AVN.

Illinois AVN is also available online at the VINE website, a public website that allows visitors to search for offender custody and case status. Users can also register online for phone or e-mail notification of changes in an offender's custody and/or court case status.

Provides general, medical and legal advocacy for individuals affected by sexual assault.
A division of the Polk County Department of Community, Family and Youth Services that provides assistance to victims of crimes and includes the following programs: Violent/Personal Crime Assistance Program; Rape/Sexual Assault Care Center; Child Sexual Abuse Resource Coalition (C-SARC); Intra-Family Sexual Abuse Program (IFSAP) and Volunteer Program.

SART - Mid-Iowa Sexual Assault Response Team - assists in sexual assault cases to aid the victim. The purpose of SART is to provide quality, compassionate and consistent care to victims of sexual assault. Free service.

COPING AFTER SUICIDE support group for families and/or friends of suicide victims

FREE COUNSELING and advocacy services for anyone affected by a violent crime or sexual assault (children and adults).

CASE COORDIANTION provided for Child Sexual Abuse Resource Coalition (C-SARC) and Intra-Family Sexual Abuse Program (IFSAP) cases. Volunteers and interns are trained to assist victims by providing crisis intervention, court advocacy, phone counseling and support group facilitation.

VIOLENT CRIME ASSISTANCE PROGRAM provides crisis intervention for victims, witnesses and their families in cases who have suffered emotional or physical trauma resulting from violent crimes. Purpose is to assist the victims and their families through support, counseling, advocacy, and agency liaison; as well as assisting the criminal justice system by helping the victim to become a good witness. Special services available to families of homicide victims.

TEEN SEXUAL ASSAULT GROUP / SIG-NA is a group for teen sexual assault at various high schools, on various days and times. Call for more information.

The county attorney provides support and information for crime victims and witnesses including explaining the court process, informing victims and witnesses of charges filed, providing assistance with filing for victim compensation, providing referrals to other agencies and resources as needed, maintaining records of restitution payments, and assisting in returning property kept as evidence. Upon request, the county attorney will notify victims of all court hearings.

It is funded entirely by fines and penalties paid by criminals (not by taxpayers). Can also pay for crime-scene clean-up, replacement of clothing held as evidence, replacement of security items, child or dependent care, housing/shelter expenses, relocation expenses and travel.

Financial assistance available with the goal of helping to reduce the financial burden imposed on victims of violent crime and their families. The Illinois Crime Victim Compensation Program can provide innocent victims and their families with financial assistance for expenses accrued as a result of a violent crime.

Provides free and confidential sexual assault/abuse and crime victim services to anyone that has been sexually assaulted/abused. Off-site/out-of-office services provided include trauma-informed services, counseling/therapy, legal advocacy, medical advocacy, social services and basic needs advocacy/case management, safety planning, 24/7 crisis helplines, and 24/7 crisis intervention at hospitals/law enforcement. Service plans based upon services client wants to receive.

Also provides community trainings in Professional settings and offers Information about Services.

Provides a domestic violence program tailored to meet the needs of people who are deaf, deafblind, or hard of hearing and serves victims of domestic violence and any crime. Services provided by the CHS Domestic Violence program include:

- Counseling to help you cope with your situation.

- Advocacy to ensure your rights are protected.

- Support in working with the police and court system.

- Assistance in applying for victim compensation.

Provides a crime victim advocacy and resource organization serving individuals, families, and communities harmed by crime. Through collaboration with local, state, and federal partners the center provides direct services and resources, and advocates for passage of laws and public policies that create resources and secure rights and protection for individuals.
