Head Start is an educational program to help prepare children for transition into kindergarten and provides health screenings and nutrients. Transportation is available at most locations. Early Head Start is specific to meet the developmental needs of infants and toddlers. Offers home-based options with a weekly visit from a teacher in the family's home along with two special days a month for activities with other families.

The Head Start program is a full day, full week preschool experience for low-income and disabled children 3-5 years old. The Head Start approach addresses the educational, health, nutrition, social, mental health and literacy needs of the children. Children participate in activities that promote motor, language, social/emotional, cognitive skills, literacy, science and math. All classrooms provide an inclusive environment for children with disabilities. Nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack are provided daily through the CACFP program and Head Start partners with Northeast Iowa Food and Fitness to help children and families learn about healthy, local foods.
Early Head Start is a home visitation program that provides services to eligible pregnant women and children ages birth to 3 years old. The program conducts home visits in the family's home and provides opportunities for group socialization. Early Head Start Home Visitors will also provide guidance for children's transition to Head Start or other preschool programs once the child turns three years old.

Licensed preschool for 3-4 year olds at the Center, 1245 Folsom Street and Pre-K Program for 4-5 years olds Mon-Fri 6:30 am-5:30 pm, 1030 West Q Street.

Full time and part time summer childcare for preschool and elementary school children.

Offers to prepare registered Pre-K students for a routine schedule in a classroom setting. Instructors work with students on fine motor skills and learning the alphabet.

Head Start is a federally funded program that serves children (ages 3-5) and pregnant women, offering a school readiness program plus comprehensive services to children and their families who meet income guidelines.

Provides early childhood education and a school-readiness program for low-income families with children ages 3-5. Program staff work with the entire family to meet all the needs that might create barriers for children in learning.

Provides children an opportunity for social and emotional growth, as well as a beginning adjustment to a more formal school experience. Part time and half day sessions are available.

- SMILLE (Sensory Motor Integration Language Learning Environments): Highest level of child support.

- Early Childhood Instructional: Special education classrooms (maximum of 10 children).

- Blended: Standard classrooms with special education support (maximum of 15 children).

- Pre-K: Standard classrooms (maximum of 20 children).

- Transitional Kindergarten Classroom-Specified criteria and limited space.

FAMILY CABINET uses a point system used to earn diapers, formula, and other baby supplies.

Offers Pre-K to the community. Each classroom offers space for 20 students with either a half day (2 1/2 hour) program, or a full day (6 hour) program, 5 days per week.
