Early Head Start is an education-based program that supports families through child development, parenting education, nutrition, social services, parent involvement, family literacy, and health and disability services. The home visiting program consists of a home visitor making a weekly visit and providing two group socialization opportunities a month. The center-based program for parents working or going to school full time, provides free childcare for eligible infants and toddlers, which also promotes parental input through volunteer opportunities and parent interactions.

Head Start is a no-cost preschool program that serves children ages 0-5 and their families. Program includes health services, nutritional meals and snacks, disability services, educational services, social services, and parent involvement. Full-day and half-day programs are available.

Administers Head Start, a comprehensive developmental preschool program for children. At the three center locations throughout McHenry County, open enrollment is available at any time and emphasis is on school readiness.

Also provided the following classes, parent training, health and dental screening, social services and a nutrition program.

Transportation may be available in certain areas For qualifying families.

Day services for medically fragile, chronically ill, physically challenged, and/or developmentally delayed children. RNs and LPNs on staff.

Special education support programming.

Physical, occupational, and speech therapy on site and on an outpatient basis.

The Head Start program is a full day, full week preschool experience for low-income and disabled children 3-5 years old. The Head Start approach addresses the educational, health, nutrition, social, mental health and literacy needs of the children. Children participate in activities that promote motor, language, social/emotional, cognitive skills, literacy, science and math. All classrooms provide an inclusive environment for children with disabilities. Nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack are provided daily through the CACFP program and Head Start partners with Northeast Iowa Food and Fitness to help children and families learn about healthy, local foods.

Early Head Start is a home visitation program that provides services to eligible pregnant women and children ages birth to 3 years old. The program conducts home visits in the family's home and provides opportunities for group socialization. Early Head Start Home Visitors will also provide guidance for children's transition to Head Start or other preschool programs once the child turns three years old.
Inclusive child care to participants of all abilities, including those with disabilities, ages 6 weeks to pre-school. Offers preschool on site. Child care is inclusive and adaptive and follows Creative Curriculum.
Offers Pre-K to the community. Each classroom offers space for 20 students with either a half day (2 1/2 hour) program, or a full day (6 hour) program, 5 days per week.
