Guides Latinx immigrants on how to obtain citizenship by working with them on studying and practicing in preparation to take the test. Will walk step by step with the student until they become citizens.

Remember for citizenship classes individuals must qualify first and this depends on how long they have had residency and how long ago it was obtained.

Assists women and men who are studying to take the naturalization test and to become informed and participative U.S. citizens.

Provides two 12-week semesters of group classes to provide explanation, reinforcement, and practice. Volunteers work individually with those who are scheduled to take their naturalization test.

All classes and tutoring are in English.

The program offers classes at all educational levels to help students obtain a High School Equivalency certificate (GED) or to remedy basic skills deficiencies. Classes are open-entry and offered throughout the district in face-to-face, hybrid, and remote formats. Bridge Programming is also available to assist students in their transition to post secondary.

Community Home Gardens:

Trained staff help address and improve access to affordable produce in the southeast Omaha community by providing education and training for families and community members to learn to build, grow, and maintain their own backyard gardens. This project will also be a catalyst to address other social needs through community resource connections.

Mindfulness and Physical Well-Being:

Trained staff and instructors teach community members mindfulness techniques and strategies to reduce stress and improve wellness. Along with mindfulness practice, physical activity is offered to help address the stress of our community's everyday lives.
