English Language Acquisition (ELA) classes are offered in Clinton, Muscatine, Davenport, Bettendorf, Columbus Junction, and West Liberty.

ELA classes expand English communication skills for students who are not native English speakers. Classroom, small group and computer instruction are designed to promote reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Students learn about personal communication, conducting business, work-related communication, and civic engagement.

Offers English as a Second Language classes for those who want to learn to speak, read and write English.

Provides a summer enrichment bilingual program for school aged children ages 5 - 12 that includes science and arts focused with art, movement, hands-on science experiments and field trips related to thematic units.

Offers English Language Acquisition (ELA) which is a language program designed for adults, 16 years and older, whose native language is not English. The ELA program helps students improve reading, writing, speaking and listening skills from literacy to the advanced level. Students improve English skills while also learning about U.S. culture. There is no tuition fee for these classes.

Before entry into the program, a student must obtain an English skills assessment for accurate placement. Placement testing is done weekly throughout most of the year.

Offers affordable courses designed to provide quality training for individuals wanting to upgrade job skills, explore new careers, recertify or renew licenses, start a new hobby or develop new personal or professional skills. Also offers programs for those needing Adult literacy assistance including General Education Diploma (GED) preparation and Adult Basic Skills such as math, reading, writing, English as a Second Language, etc. Classes available in the following categories: Career Development, Computer Technology, Trades and Industry, Transportation, Licensure and Recertification, Health, and Life and Leisure Personal Interest.

Students are individually tested and receive materials targeted to their goals and learning level. Students come for tutoring for 1 hours a week, and may also participate in twice-weekly conversation classes.

Academic Advising provides assistance with the entry and re-entry into college (2 year or 4 year institutions), information about post-secondary education, assistance with the college application process, and assistance preparing for college entrance examinations (SAT, ACT, and Compass).

Financial Aid offers information about financial aid opportunities, assistance with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA), and scholarship search.
