School backpack and supply distribution for grades pre-K-12. Proof of school enrollment for each child is required, regardless of location.

For 2025, distribution is Friday, August 8th through Saturday, August 9th at the following locations:

- The Salvation Army Citadel Corps (3738 Cuming Street, Omaha) - August 8th-9th at 9 am-12 pm and 1 pm-3 pm, or until supplies have been exhausted. Must visit in person for distribution only; backpacks will be distributed in the gymnasium.

- The Salvation Army Kroc Center (2825 Y Street, Omaha) - August 8th-9th at 9 am-12 pm and 1 pm-3 pm, or until supplies have been exhausted. Walk-up distribution only. Enter the Kroc Center campus off of 27th Street (on the east end of the property).

- Westroads Mall (10000 California Street, Omaha) - August 9th at 10 am-1 pm, or until supplies have been exhausted. Drive-thru distribution only. The distribution will take place in the mall's northeast parking lot, just north of JC Penney.

Provides school supplies for school age children.

Provides funds for a DeWitt County student to attend Richland Community College in Decatur. The student may use the funds for tuition, textbooks, or other costs associated with their education.

Offers seasonal services, including holiday food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas, with gift cards for turkey, holiday toys and gifts as supplies last, Easter baskets for youth, and Back-to-school supplies and backpacks for students in August.

Free school supplies and backpacks are available to children in need via the Ramblin' Rose bus, and at the regular Effingham location. The bus travels to towns in the seven-county area to provide the supplies.

School clothing is also available from the bus, or families may choose to receive a voucher and shop for their clothing at Second Hand Rose Resale Shoppe in the Effingham Catholic Charities location.

School supply and backpack distribution.

Provides free school supplies and book bags in the fall for income eligible students Pre-K through high school in Brown, Pike and Schuyler counties. In some cases fees for extra curricular activities may be covered for income eligible junior and senior high school students.

Contact your local Two Rivers Regional Council office to schedule an appointment for school supplies in July.

Offers a Back to School Giveaway each August. The program provides free school supplies and backpacks to the K-12 students of the Ankeny Community School District and those who attend school in Ankeny. School Supplies giveaway Saturday, August 2, 2025, 2 pm-4 pm, South Omaha Location.

Distribution is first come, first served. Limited supplies are available.

Provides school supply assistance for low income families in August. Backpacks with school supplies will be handed out to all children, whose parents have signed up for distribution this month (applications available at the main office). Must have applications in by July 31, 2025.

- 2 new/gently used outfits.

- 3 new pairs of socks.

- 3 new pairs of underwear.

- Fitted with a new pair of shoes.

- Basic toiletries.

School Supplies are donated and given to needy students at the beginning of each school year through the Back to School Fair. Pre-registration is required, call or visit the United Way of Mahaska County to register.

Offers clothing for students in sizes 3T thru adult XL, as well as personal hygiene and school items.
