Provides students with back-to-school supplies, including:

- 2 new/gently used outfits.

- 3 new pairs of socks.

- 3 new pairs of underwear.

- Fitted with a new pair of shoes.

- Basic toiletries.

- Basic school supplies.

Offers back-to-school goods, generally provided the week before the start of the school year.  Includes a backpack, school supplies, and a set of clothing for school aged children.

Offers school-home communication. Offering parent/family resources, support programs for students and families, and community network connections. Also free school supplies may be available.

Thrift shop with vouchers provided by most churches, government offices, and community agencies.

School supply distribution.

Santa's workshop provides Christmas presents.

One-day book bag giveaway event, held on Saturday, August 11th, 2025. Hours are 12 pm-5 pm.

Held at YouTurn campus (4344 North 34th Avenue) and Skinner Magnet (4304 North 33rd Street).

2,500 free book bags will be given away to K-12 students; no documentation is needed.

Other family activities are offered at the event.

Provides back-to-school supplies to youth in need that live within the McHenry County area. 

Provides school supply assistance for low income families in August. Backpacks with school supplies will be handed out to all children, whose parents have signed up for distribution this month (applications available at the main office). Must have applications in by July 31, 2025.

Back to School Giveaway distributes backpacks filled with school supplies for Head Start -12th grade students from low income households. Free supplies for the first 1,500 kids. GIVEAWAY LOCATION: the 15 DMARC Food Pantries around Polk County will have school supplies to hand out for the bash. Backpacks will be available at the food pantries starting Fall 2026.

School backpack and supply distribution for grades pre-K-12. Proof of school enrollment for each child is required, regardless of location.

For 2025, distribution is Friday, August 8th through Saturday, August 9th at the following locations:

- The Salvation Army Citadel Corps (3738 Cuming Street, Omaha) - August 8th-9th at 9 am-12 pm and 1 pm-3 pm, or until supplies have been exhausted. Must visit in person for distribution only; backpacks will be distributed in the gymnasium.

- The Salvation Army Kroc Center (2825 Y Street, Omaha) - August 8th-9th at 9 am-12 pm and 1 pm-3 pm, or until supplies have been exhausted. Walk-up distribution only. Enter the Kroc Center campus off of 27th Street (on the east end of the property).

- Westroads Mall (10000 California Street, Omaha) - August 9th at 10 am-1 pm, or until supplies have been exhausted. Drive-thru distribution only. The distribution will take place in the mall’s northeast parking lot, just north of JC Penney.

Offers seasonal services, including holiday food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas, with gift cards for turkey, holiday toys and gifts as supplies last, Easter baskets for youth, and Back-to-school supplies and backpacks for students in August.
