Free universal home visit program offered to every family in Lancaster County who has recently welcomed a newborn into the home, or given birth, including foster or adoptive families and families experiencing infant loss.


A highly trained Registered Nurse comes to the client's home at around three weeks postpartum to assess mom and baby, including weight and measurements, offering lactation support, providing education on topics relevant to all families, and answering any questions.

Provides public health care services to those in need.

Responsible for the preservation and improvement of the environment. Programs and services include bed bugs information, body art/tattoo parlor inspections, food safety and restaurant inspections, private sewage system inspections, tanning facility inspections, and well inspections.

Childhood and adult vaccines for all people are provided at each of Elkhorn Logan Valley Public Health Department's three locations in Norfolk, Tekamah and Wisner. Includes vaccines for those who are privately insured, Medicare, Medicaid and those who are uninsured.
