Health and fitness services offer fitness and health education classes and physical activity programs, conducted for community, church, and social groups. Programs cover the areas of illness and injury prevention, physical activity, nutrition, and mental wellness. Individuals are encouraged to take measures that decrease risk, promote optimum health, and encourage independent living. 

Provides Public Health Services for Story County residents. Services include emergency healthcare preparedness planning and prevention, response and recovery to healthcare disasters, communicable disease prevention, immunization programs, and Tuberculosis Control. Additional services include lead testing to measure lead content in household items, blood pressure screening to identify individuals at risk of hypertension-related conditions, and foot screening to detect foot-related health issues, including those specific to individuals with diabetes.

Primary medical care services are available for most minor or intermediate illnesses.

Additional services include adult physicals, community wellness groups, and health screenings targeting individuals at high risk for conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, or cancer. Prescription assistance is provided to support medication needs. The program also offers nutrition education, which includes guidance on healthful eating, food handling, preparation, shopping skills, and the relationship between nutrition and overall health. Participants will receive their results immediately after completing the screening. No additional information is required for the screenings. If a health problem is found, the client is referred to the nearest available health clinic.

Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD), most common in people over 50 years old, is a medical condition in which arteries in the legs are clogged or narrowed.
