Federally funded program that pays for office visits associated with Pap tests, pelvic exams, clinical breast exams and lab fees. Age appropriate mammography is covered, as well as a limited number of diagnostic tests. EWM provides screening and diagnostic tests, public education, professional education and training, surveillance, evaluation and quality assurance activities.

Offers free or low-cost breast and cervical cancer screenings for those between 21 and 64 years of age.

Many women are eligible for free or low-cost breast cancer screenings (clinical breast exams and mammograms), and cervical cancer screenings (Pap test and pelvic exams). For those between 35 and 64 years of age, the program also provides heart health (blood pressure) and diabetes (blood glucose and cholesterol) screenings.

Offers diabetes screening, drug and alcohol testing, TB testing (except Thu), urine pregnancy tests, physicals for school, sports, well child, adult, pre-employment. Lead poisoning screening, and blood pressure screening and immunizations.

Provides public health services to the residents of Winneshiek County. Services can include health supervision and counseling, childhood immunizations, adolescent/adult immunizations (i.e. tetanus, Hepatitis B), and blood pressure checks.

Provides Public Health Services for Story County residents. Services include emergency healthcare preparedness planning and prevention, response and recovery to healthcare disasters, communicable disease prevention, immunization programs, and Tuberculosis Control. Additional services include lead testing to measure lead content in household items, blood pressure screening to identify individuals at risk of hypertension-related conditions, and foot screening to detect foot-related health issues, including those specific to individuals with diabetes.

Senior Centers offer a variety of programs for senior citizens, including center meals, exercise classes, outreach, information and assistance, social activities, and home delivered meals. Some might offer blood pressure screenings or foot care clinics.

Serves seniors with the goal of helping them remain safe and in their homes for as long as possible. The program focuses on chronic disease prevention, nutrition, and physical activity. Department nurses offer low-cost foot care and blood pressure screenings, home visitations, and educational presentations. Staff works with community partners, reaching most program participants through senior centers, churches, and independent senior living communities.

Senior centers offer, pool, shuffleboard, exercise, cards (pitch, bridge and chicken foot), puzzles, socialization with coffee every day and pedicures.

Information and referral services.

Provides preventative reproductive health care and education to any member of the community, including services such as contraceptive education, sexually transmitted infection prevention, and pregnancy-related information. Offers breast examinations, Pap tests, and instruction on breast self-examination techniques for early detection of breast cancer.

Develops reproductive life plans to support informed decision-making.

Provides general immunizations to prevent diseases and reduce health risks for individuals and the community.

Shares information on environmental hazards and safety measures to promote overall health.

Blood pressure screenings are available to identify individuals at risk of hypertension-related conditions.

Additionally, referrals to programs like WIC are provided to support nutrition, breastfeeding, and overall health for eligible individuals and families.

The overarching goals are to decrease unintended pregnancies, reduce the transmission of sexually transmitted infections, and promote comprehensive health and wellness.
