Senior Centers offer a variety of programs for senior citizens, including center meals, exercise classes, outreach, information and assistance, social activities, and home delivered meals. Some might offer blood pressure screenings or foot care clinics.

Clinic services are available, by appointment only, to people age 60 years and over.

Services available may include:

- Comprehensive foot care

- Blood glucose screenings

- Blood pressure screenings

- Cholesterol screenings

- Osteoporosis screenings

- Health promotion education

Community clinic providing a variety of family practice services.

Women's health, including pap tests and prenatal care visits.

Physicals for anyone, including well-child checkups, kindergarten physicals, sports physicals.

Acute care.

Immunizations, including flu shots.

Tests for diabetes, high blood pressure, HIV, tuberculosis.

STD testing and treatment.

Medical assistance program assists low income individuals in applying to drug companies for a reduction in the cost of monthly/regular prescriptions.

Behavioral health care for routine conditions such as anxiety and depression.

Counseling provided by a licensed practitioner (PLMHP).

Serves seniors with the goal of helping them remain safe and in their homes for as long as possible. The program focuses on chronic disease prevention, nutrition, and physical activity. Department nurses offer low-cost foot care and blood pressure screenings, home visitations, and educational presentations. Staff works with community partners, reaching most program participants through senior centers, churches, and independent senior living communities.

The Community Health Representatives provide the following services:

Offers basic health and dental screening; prenatal care, and well child care education. Evaluations of family's social and financial needs will help determine appropriate referrals for needed services.

Provides health screenings to medically underserved minority populations:

-- HIV & Hepatitis C.

-- Blood Pressure and Glucose.

-- Back-to-School Physicals.

-- Hearing and Vision Examinations.

-- Diabetes/Cholesterol.

-- Oral Health Screenings.

-- A1C Screenings.

Participants will receive their results immediately after completing the screening. No additional information is required for the screenings. If a health problem is found, the client is referred to the nearest available health clinic.

Provides information and services related to health and wellness topics, including heart health, cholesterol, blood pressure screening, smoking cessation, diabetes, obesity, and physical activity. Offers blood pressure screenings to identify individuals at risk for hypertension-related conditions, cholesterol and triglycerides tests to assess cardiovascular health, and hypoglycemia screenings to detect blood sugar deficiencies. Additionally, provides diabetes management support, including education on self-management skills, dietary planning, exercise, and prevention of complications. Health education presentations are also available for local schools.

Offers public health services to the Keokuk County communities. Services include home care services and home care nursing, health care programs for women and children, prenatal care, general physicals, immunizations, blood pressure screenings, diabetes screenings, mental health administration, early childhood development, and environmental health services. Also provides information on communicable diseases.

Additional support includes homemaker assistance for families experiencing disruptions due to illness, disability, or other challenges, and personal care services to assist with hygiene, mobility, household tasks, and nutritional needs for individuals such as elderly people, people with disabilities, or recently discharged hospital patients.

Offers blood pressure screenings.

Federally funded program that pays for office visits associated with Pap tests, pelvic exams, clinical breast exams and lab fees. Age appropriate mammography is covered, as well as a limited number of diagnostic tests. EWM provides screening and diagnostic tests, public education, professional education and training, surveillance, evaluation and quality assurance activities.

Offers free or low-cost breast and cervical cancer screenings for those between 21 and 64 years of age.

Many women are eligible for free or low-cost breast cancer screenings (clinical breast exams and mammograms), and cervical cancer screenings (Pap test and pelvic exams). For those between 35 and 64 years of age, the program also provides heart health (blood pressure) and diabetes (blood glucose and cholesterol) screenings.
