Offers public health programs and services, including bioterrorism and county disaster preparedness. Provides mammograms and Pap tests for early cancer detection, lead poisoning screenings for young children, and home health aide services to support recently discharged hospital patients, elderly individuals, and people with disabilities. Works closely with the county Board of Health and serves as a funding source for community needs assessments. Also provides information about communicable diseases.

Specialized nursing services include IV infusion therapy, wound care, tube feedings, men, orthopedic nursing, and care for people with chronic diseases, such as heart failure, diabetes, or COPD.

Provides home health aides to do personal cares and home health nurses for skilled nursing.

Offers nurses, home care aides for personal cares and homemakers for homemaking needs for those who need assistance related to a medical diagnosis which prevents them from being able to manage these functions independently. Health Services no longer provides acute home care services funded by insurances but will provide all similar services as needed to safely assist persons to maintain independence and thus prevent unnecessary institutionalism. Home health care services including skilled nursing, rehabilitative therapies, home care aides, speech therapy, dietitian consult, certified wound ostomy, continence nurse, medical alert systems and homemaker assistance.

Provides public health nursing services. Services include adult health maintenance services for medically needy individuals, home health aides, personal care, homemaker services, adult immunizations, foot care clinics, and communicable disease follow-up.

Home care services including nursing, rehabilitative therapies, psychiatric nursing services, home health aides, meal preparation, errands and grocery shopping, household assistance, and respite care.

Also offers home provider care services, including companionship, light housekeeping, and assistance with activities of daily living to help you safely stay independent at home.

Offers a registered nurse who provides the following in the person's home; health education, medication management, health assessment, and maternal or child health care. Calhoun County Public Health is not a certified home health provider and does not provide Medicare or Medicaid eligible services.

PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) organization offering a complete personal health plan for eligible individuals. Supports living in the client's own home and community for as long as possible.

Participants receive all the care and services covered by Medicare and Medicaid, as authorized by the Interdisciplinary Team, as well as additional medically necessary care and services not covered by Medicare and Medicaid.

Nursing Home Care

Provides home healthcare and palliative care for older adults and people living with a serious illness. Services include:

- Ensuring care is matched to goals and priorities.

- Providing counseling and support.

- Facilitating family meetings with healthcare team.

- Educating patients and families about what to expect in the future.

- Communicating and coordinating with healthcare team.

- Recommending management approaches for emotional symptoms and physician coordination.

- Assisting with identification of surrogate decision-maker.

Provides the following services: home health care (skilled nursing, home care aids, homemakers), immunizations, dental services, lead poisoning prevention, lead testing, physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. Additionally, the program provides communicable disease information and control.

For Veterans who need assistance with activities of daily living (such as dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, toileting, mobility, etc.) or caregivers experiencing burden. Veterans can decide what mix of services will best meet their needs and hire their own personal care aides.
