Employment services for those who are dislocated workers. Individuals may be considered dislocated workers if they match one of the following situations:

-Lost employment due to a permanent plant closure or mass layoff within the company

-Position has been eliminated and unable to return to work in that industry or occupation

-Self-employed, but the economy or a natural disaster is causing the business to fail

-Displaced homemaker or caregiver who has lost their primary means of support

-A military spouse, who left a job to follow the military service member, or unable to continue employment because a spouse's change of military station, or lost employment as a result of the military member's discharge from the military

Promotes personal, academic, and career growth. Services include academic, pre-enrollment and financial aid counseling; connection to DMACC's Workforce Training Academy (WTA); pre-employment counseling (including rsum writing and interviewing techniques); referrals to appropriate supportive agencies; financial assistance for childcare and transportation.
