Benefits Planning and Work Incentives Counseling assists Social Security disability beneficiaries ages 14 to full retirement age in understanding how federal disability cash (SSDI/SSI), healthcare (Medicare/Medicaid) and other public benefits are impacted by income from work, providing the assurances needed to make informed decisions about working while disabled. This service also helps individuals identify and strategically use state/federal work incentives that best align with their work goals. Employment Services are provided under the Ticket to Work Program.

Social Security’s Ticket to Work program supports career development for Social Security disability beneficiaries age 18 through 64 who want to work. The Ticket program is free and voluntary. The Ticket program helps people with disabilities progress toward financial independence.
Provides information about how work can affect Social Security Benefits. Information on resources and benefits when going back to work is also available. The initiative is designed to support all Iowa SSA beneficiaries in pursuing their career objectives and effectively manage their benefits and applicable work incentives at the same time.
