Welfare to Work Program | Iowa Workforce Development - Administration Office

Provides FIP recipients with work experience that will enhance their work skills and increase their employment potential, while providing a service that will be of benefit to the community. Participants in Promise Jobs are assigned to work sites three days per week (or more), eight hours per day, for a maximum of six months. They will, to the maximum extent possible, learn and perform all assignments associated with a position. Participants do not receive wages for work performed, but instead receive a transportation allowance, child care assistance if necessary, and Workers' Compensation Coverage from Promise Jobs.
