Iowa Division of Workers' Compensation administers the Iowa Workers' Compensation Act, including areas pertaining to employer-employee relationship, and/or injury which arises out of and in the course of the employee's employment.
FIP (Family Investment Program) is a cash assistance program for children and their families who have low income, also available to relatives caring for children whose parents are not in the home. The goal of FIP is to help families leave poverty and become self supporting, can participate for up to 60 months. FIP is Iowa's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program.
Case management program for the elderly including coordination of community services to help client remain in their own home. Locates and identifies needed community services such as shopping, cooking meals, assistance in bathing and dressing, paying bills, household chores, personal emergency response systems, transportation; advocacy.

Provides temporary financial assistance for pregnant women and families with one or more dependent children.

Provides monthly financial assistance to persons who do not have adequate income or resources to provide for their own basic needs.
Financial assistance provided through this program may include rent, board and room, utilities, and non-food vouchers. Out-of-County transportation is provided in certain situations. Assistance is limited to those persons in Sarpy County between the ages of nineteen and sixty-four who are not eligible for other public assistance and/or do not have sufficient income or resources to meet all or part of their shelter needs.

All General Assistance payments are made directly to the landlord, and/or utility company. Vouchers are provided to purchase non-food items at Family Fare Supermarket.

General Assistance is a temporary solution and does have work requirements. If an exemption has not been granted, all recipients are expected to actively seek employment while they are receiving assistance.

State Supplement adds to the benefits of the federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Program to bring the income of aged and disabled individuals up to the need of standards of Nebraska. Additionally, some persons are not eligible for SSI payments, but qualify for a State Supplement payment because of different standards and regulations.

State Disability provides aid to needy persons who have a disability expected to last for at least six months, but less than the 12 months required to be eligible for the federal Supplemental Security Income Program.

Provides a limited monthly disbursed grant for individuals to be used to pay for basic needs including food, rent/shelter, utilities, clothing or other essentials. The maximum monthly benefit for a General Assistance recipient has been set at $200.

Offers child care designed to meet the unique needs of military members, such as care provided during non-traditional hours or over the weekends. Various programs are available, such as on-installation child development and school-age centers as well as family child care in-home settings.

Offers fee assistance to make community-based care more affordable for families. The Department of Defense establishes annual fee guidelines, so a family's cost is based on their Total Family Income.

Provides the Unemployment Compensation Insurance programs and assists with questions regarding and applications for unemployment compensation, and provide resources for those seeking employment and retraining information.

Locally administered welfare program which provides monthly financial assistance to persons who do not have adequate income or resources to provide for their own basic needs.

Unemployment Insurance benefits assist individuals who are unemployed through no fault of their own. Benefits are paid from the Nebraska State Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund. The fund is supported solely by a special tax on employers. Unemployment claims are filed online at NEworks.nebraska.gov.
