Provides financial assistance to individuals who are ineligible for other state assistance and do not have resources to provide for their needs.

When funding allows, may be able to help with limited financial assistance for basic needs such as childcare payments, rent, rent deposits, utilities, food, hygiene products, car repairs, transportation, prescription costs, etc., through the Community Services Block Grant. Eligibility requirements will apply, and ongoing case management will be required. Contact your local County Outreach Office for more information.

Examples of eligible youth would be those currently or formerly in foster care, homeless or near homeless without family support, past involvement with the juvenile justice system, or those on probation that meet specific qualifying circumstances.

Offers leadership opportunities, financial literacy and asset-building through Opportunity Passport, central navigation to connect to services, coaching toward goals, and gap funding for essential services or resources.

Additionally, assistance may be available for rental payments to prevent eviction or support ongoing monthly rental costs, subject to eligibility requirements.

Basic Needs Assistance Program is designed to meet the emergency needs of low-income individuals age 60 or over. Funds are available for material aid: for emergency needs such as rent payment assistance, utility bills, eyeglasses, prescription medications, and minor home repairs. The limit for a request is $400 every 2 years. If a service or funds are available elsewhere the assistance will not be approved until all resources have been explored. Assistance can only be issued when funding is available.

Assistive Technology Equipment Provision Options

Emergency financial assistance for people who have experienced a recent loss or disaster of some sort, such as fire, flood, or loss of parent/provider. Helps pay for things like clothes, household goods, and other expenses due to disaster.

General Assistance is available through the Township for qualifying residents with very low or no income.
Provides eligible applicants with limited financial help for basic needs.

Outreach Counselors work to connect seniors and disabled individuals, with emphasis on those with lower incomes, with those programs that will help them to remain independent. These programs include Benefit Access Applications. SHIP (Senior Health Insurance Program), Real Estate tax reductions, Medicare Part D counseling. SNAP, LIHEAP, and other state and federal programs, Assistance with hearing, A small reserve of funds for occasional GAP funding for emergency needs.
