Child Development Programs | Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska

Migrant and Seasonal Head Start (MSHS) is a federally funded comprehensive child development program based on four cornerstones:

- Child Development.

- Family Development.

- Community Building.

- Staff Development.

Western Nebraska Child Development Center offers childcare services for children age 6 weeks to 5 years, whose parents are full time students. Program is located on the campus of Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff.

Infant/Toddler Quality Initiative helps providers gain support in the quality of child care provided.

Medical Childcare | ChildServe

Provides Medical Childcare for children and young adults with special medical health care needs. The center is accredited by CARF (Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). Children are grouped according to their age and level of needs with staff/child ratio of no more than 1:3. Services include: skilled nursing, on-site therapy services, care coordination, Individual Care Plans, before and after school care, meals.

Criteria for admission at Woodland Center:
- Medicaid eligible.
- Age 6 weeks to 21 years.
- Diagnoses associated with significant medical needs requiring specialized medical care (g-tube feeding, seizure disorders, breathing treatments, oral feeding difficult, personal care, catherization, and other conditions requiring nursing).


Criteria for admission at ChildServe - Ames:
- Medicaid eligible.
- Age 6 weeks to 5 years.

Before and after school program provides arts, crafts, games, and an after school snack for elementary age children. Childcare is provided for days when there is no school. Children bring their own brown bag lunch.

Teen Parent and Child Education Center | YWCA of the Quad Cities

Child care for the infant and toddler children of adolescent parent students while the parents are attending school (or school-related activities, including Class Work Training). The center provides all nutrition for the children, other than formula or breast milk, through participation in the Child and Adult Care Food Program and access to on-site Well Baby Clinics and Immunizations with Visiting Nurses. Formal parent education classes are held every Wednesday after school until 4 pm. Informal parent education is shared regularly.

- Early Learning Academy Child Care: Provides full-time and part-time childcare, where children can learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships, and build self-reliance. Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks are provided. Youth membership is included with enrollment.

- SAFE Before and After School Care: Program provides an inclusive atmosphere where kids are nurtured and encouraged to achieve success both academically and socially. At SAFE kids can get homework help and participate in activities. SAFE is located on school premises and offers homework assistance, enrichment activities, athletic play, and social activities. A snack is served in the morning and afternoon. All SAFE students receive a free youth membership. Flexible attendance options are available.

- Summer Camp: Provides a summer camp experience for school-aged children. Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack is provided. Children can bring a snack lunch if they wish, but home lunches should not contain nuts.
