For Christmas 2025:

As of 11/20/25, no longer accepting applications but community members may still call and see if the office might have extra gift cards to Dollar Fresh and Family Fare grocery stores in Richardson County for food for the families (distributed on December 14th).

Holiday Gift and Food Basket applications may be picked up at the SENCA office in Falls City or Humboldt, starting October 28th, 2024. No applications will be accepted after November 15th at 4 pm.

**Not offering a Christmas dinner this year 2025** 

Provides a Christmas Eve dinner from 12 pm-2 pm to persons in need. Sign-up begin December 1 2024, and continues until the event is full. Please call the church or email Lu to register. Delivery is available to ONLY Cedar Rapid residents who are housebound. Must provide address. Deliveries will be made on December 24, 2024, (11 am-1 pm) Call the church to register.

Baskets containing food for a holiday meal and gifts for children ages 16 and under.

Sign Up is the last full week in October, with varying hours.

Distribution of baskets takes place the Wednesday the week prior to Christmas.

Must live with in the area between Brady Street & Lincoln Avenue and River Drive to Kimberly Road.

Holiday baskets are offered seasonally, provided through local community support. Programs vary by location; call for information.

Thanksgiving 2025

Offering a thanksgiving community meal on Thanksgiving Day 11 am-1 pm.

Christmas 2025 

Offering Christmas assistance through the angel tree program, for registering in person must visit main office on November 4th, 5th, and 6th. May register online on November 13th. 

To register, you will need to bring: photo I.D. and social security card for head of household, and social security card for household members ages 13 and older, birth certificates for each child ages 0-12; current piece of mail from the last 30 days proving they live in Jasper County and a working phone number. Christmas food and toy distribution are for families with children from newborn to 12 years old

For Christmas 2025:

Links people in the Columbus area with local charitable projects.

Coordinates the giving efforts of the Columbus Community, linking the giving projects with the individuals that need assistance with gifts and/or food for Christmas.

All applications are processed digitally. Visit the Columbus Area Holiday Spirit Facebook page to scan a QR code to access the online form and submit an application. Application period begins Oct 23, 2025, and the digital form must be submitted by Nov 15.

Families who are selected to receive holiday gifts or a food basket will be contacted with details regarding the pickup time, date, and location by phone or mail.

Holiday baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas For eligible families, a holiday food basket will be prepared upon request. Visit in person to register for a food basket. Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets (Signup Dates are November 1st through November 27th, 2025)

Offers Toys for Tots sign-ups for children ages 14 and under. Sign-ups are currently open and close on December 1st. Call to apply for the program and use extension 0. 

2025

Offers a Toys for Tots sign ups for children 0-14 years of age. All adults in the household must have a photo ID and all children must have ID with birth date. Sign ups start mid-October through mid-November. Can call or stop by the office. Toy pick-up in December.

Thanksgiving assistance - Offering a turkey giveaway on November 22nd, 2025, at 11 am-1 pm. Open to Dubuque County residents only. Individuals can register on-site the day of the giveaway to receive one free turkey per household.

Christmas assistance - To register for the Toys for Tots 2025 program visit website or in person to register. Open to children ages 14 and under. Registration will remain open until all time slots are full.

The Official Toys for Tots toy distribution site will be at the Multicultural Family Center, 1157 Central Ave.

2026 YouthHope Holiday Food Baskets

Holiday Food Basket Application begin October 1, 2026. Holiday baskets include holiday meal food items and a grocery gift certificate. Baskets are limited. Clients who apply for a food basket from another agency are not eligible. First-come, first-served. Basket recipients will receive a basket pick-up card at the time of application with details.

Application must be completed in-person during Food Pantry hours: Monday & Friday 9 am-12 pm. Families may select either Thanksgiving OR Christmas while supplies last. Please one ONE basket per family per year.

THANKSGIVING BASKET DISTRIBUTION: Thursday, November 19, 2026 (9 am-12 pm)

CHRISTMAS BASKET DISTRIBUTION: Thursday, December 17, 2026 (9 am-12 pm)

Provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day of the year. Special holiday meals are offered at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.

Breakfast Mon-Sun: 7:30 am, Lunch Mon-Sun: 11:30 am, Dinner Mon-Sun: 5 pm, at chapel.

Thanksgiving Meal Wednesday before Thanksgiving: 12 pm.

Christmas Meal Christmas Eve Day 12 pm.

Easter Meal Easter Sunday: 12 pm.

For Christmas 2025:

Provides a child’s toy and clothing of choice, hats and gloves and coat (if needed), food for the family, and other items.

As of Oct 17, 2025, individual applicants and/or those wishing to inquire on behalf of an individual/family who may benefit from the program may send a message through the Caring Cupboard's Facebook page or call and leave a message at (308) 928-2264.

Provides Christmas 2025 assistance for referred individuals 62 or older and the disabled who may be in need or alone at Christmas. Applications may be picked up November 1-21, 2025. Must be turned in on or before November 21, 2025.

Holiday assistance for 2025 includes Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas gifts (for children up to age 18). Baskets are distributed via the MATURA Adams County Outreach Center.

CHRISTMAS GIFTS: Applications are taken from (dates to be determined).

Thanksgiving 2025 meal delivers to those who are in the following zip codes 50317, 50327, 50009. Thanksgiving meal delivery will be from 9:30 am-11am, pick-up will be from 11 am-11:30 am, dine in will be from 11:30 am-1 pm on Thanksgiving Day.

Same for Christmas meal delivery. Christmas reservations will not be taken until after Thanksgiving. After December 1, 2025.

-- Johnson County - 12/16/2024. All day pickup (8 am-4 pm) of gift cards in Tecumseh office.

-- Pawnee County - 12/18/2024 9AM – 11:30 am and 1 pm-3:30 pm. Pick up of food and gift cards in the Community Room at the Village Apartments.

Holiday program offering shoes, mittens, hats and socks for children.

Registration starts in early October and end November 15th, 2025. The event is held Saturday, December 6th, from 9 am-1 pm. Location is 3100 West 4th Street, Sioux City, IA. 

There will be no pre-registration, and the event will take walk-ins only. This will be on a first-come, first-served basis and only while supplies last. Shoes will not be given out before or after this event. Child must be present at the event to be fitted with shoes and in kindergarten - 8th grade. 

Holiday food boxes and adopt a family gift program are offered each year, with sign-up beginning in mid-October.

For Christmas 2025, Giving Tree registration forms are available at the pantry starting Mon, Oct 7, 2025. Same-day application at the pantry is preferred. Deadline to submit forms is Wed, Nov 19.
