Provides holiday foods shoppers can choose to cook a holiday meal. This is not a food basket or meal.

Groceries will be on a first-come, first served basis, December 16th-21st, 2026. There is no registration required. 

For Christmas 2025:

The Christmas Store offers presents at affordable prices to families in need.

The store will be open Thu, Dec 11 (6 pm-8 pm), Fri, Dec 12 (9:30 am-8 pm), and Sat, Dec 13 (9:30 am-11 am).

Families select their shopping time at registration.

Applicants must be the legal guardian of each child being registered, and the child must live in the applicant's home.

Volunteers, community groups and local businesses donate materials, food, toys and skills for seasonal holiday projects for low-income families. Provides food packages and allowances to purchase clothes, shoes, coats, and household goods.

Projects vary annually and by county office. Community members may contact their county BVCA office for details about local holiday programs.

Provides gifts for those in need with children (newborn through 14 years) through the Toys for Tots program. Registration for Christmas 2025 begins October 27 and ends November 30, 2025. Registration may be completed in-person at the HACAP office or may be completed online. You will need the following information to register: photo ID for head of household (the adult registering the children must also be the adult to pick up toys), proof of Date of Birth for each child (such as birth certificate from any country or child's medical record), and proof of Washington County residency (such as valid address on photo ID, lease, utility bill). Holiday baskets are offered seasonally, provided through local community support. Programs vary by location; call for information.

Provides a seasonal Christmas give-away of food and Christmas presents for children of families in need. Children ages 12 and under receive toys and teens ages 13 through 18 receive a goodie bag.

Gifts and a food voucher are available to families with children ages 15 and younger and to seniors age 60+. Food vouchers are available for families with children ages 16+ and to adults without children.

Provides Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for families unable to create a meal themselves. There are two options for a meal - a homemade meal offered at the facility on the holiday or, can provide a Christmas dinner box to struggling families. Each box feeds a family of six and includes meat, potatoes, stuffing, vegetables, biscuits, cake mix and more.

Provides a holiday program that gives out food vouchers, clothing, and gifts to qualifying individuals and families in need.

Provides a child’s toy and clothing of choice, hats and gloves and coat (if needed), food for the family, and other items.

For 2025:

Community dinner on Thanksgiving Day, 12 pm-3 pm. Call to request delivery.

Sign up for Christmas food boxes and toys for children before December 1, 2025. Visit the Salvation Army at 120 South 7th Street. Applicants must bring driver's license and proof of children in their home (insurance cards, Medicaid Cards, school IDs). Christmas food baskets/toys handed out on December 20, 2025, to those that registered.

Christmas Eve Day offering a normal breakfast 7 am-9 am, and our normal lunch 11:30 am-12:30 pm. Supper is not served on Wednesdays. Christmas Eve is a Wednesday, and as such, supper will not be served. 

Closed Christmas Day.

Offers a Christmas sit down dinner for anyone in need at the church on December 25, 2025, from 12 pm-2 pm or meal delivery from 11 am-1:30 pm. Individuals and families must call and live the area of West of Edgewood Road, north of Williams Boulevard, east of Linn-Benton County line and south of F Avenue for delivery. 

Delivered meals will not be left if no one answers the door. 

2025 New Visions Holiday Celebration:

Community Christmas Family Sign-Up is open as of Oct 15, 2025. Families can receive Christmas gifts, books, games, clothing, and food for the holidays.

Community Christmas will be held on Sat, Dec 13 (families will sign up for a specific time when registering) at the Iowa West Sports Plex in Council Bluffs. (3260 Mid America Dr, Council Bluffs, IA 51501)

The mission of the program is to collect and distribute new unwrapped toys as Christmas gifts to children ages 0-14.

Starts 11/20/2025, ends 12/11/2025. Approved applicants will be notified of specific distribution dates and locations.

THANKSGIVING: Offering Thanksgiving baskets to individuals that shop at the pantry during regular working hours starting November 10th, 2025, cannot guarantee on ham, turkey, chicken, assistance is first come first serve, no pre-registration required  CHRISTMAS: ** Agency is not sure if they will be offering food assistance for Christmas, call agency for information**

Holiday Families provides support to families during the holidays, in partnership with community organizations.

Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets are offered through some Mid-Sioux Opportunity outreach offices, as well as Christmas gift distribution programs. Dates and times vary by location. Families are encouraged to contact their local office for details.

2025 - Offers a free Christmas dinner on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025. Served from 11 am-1:30 pm. To reserve for dine in call before December 19th, 2025. 

For Pick up, we will need your name, time you will pick up the meal/s and the number of meals by December 19th, 2025. Email or call between Tue-Fri 9 am-12 pm. 

Provides curbside distribution of holiday provisions for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
