If you are a Jasper County resident and in need of Christmas assistance, please complete an application at the main office, 301 N. 2nd Ave. E., Newton, during the following days and times

Tue, Nov 5th, 10 am-12 pm and 1 pm-3:30 pm

Wed, Nov 6th, 9 am-12 pm and 1 pm-6 pm

To register, you will need to bring: photo I.D. and social security card for head of household, and social security card for household members ages 13 and older, birth certificates for each child ages 0-12; current piece of mail from the last 30 days proving they live in Jasper County and a working phone number. Christmas food and toy distribution are for families with children from newborn to 12 years old.

Offers a Christmas sit down dinner for anyone in need at the church on December 25, 2024 from noon to 2 pm or meal delivery from 11 am-1:30 pm. Individuals and families must call or email to register and live the area of West of Edgewood Road, north of Williams Boulevard, east of Linn-Benton county line and south of F Avenue for delivery.

Dinner will include turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a desert.

Delivered meals will not be left if no one answers the door.

Toys for Tots holiday program, providing gifts for children.

For Christmas 2024:
The Toys for Tots Application is open from October 1st - December 1st at 4 pm. Apply online at www.heartlandunitedway.org/toys-tots-application-1

Distribution is Thursday, December 12th, 2024.

Heartland United Way works in partnership with the US Marine Corp each year to offer the Toys for Tots program. Children must be age 12 or younger and reside in the household.

Open to households in Hall, Hamilton, Howard or Merrick Counties in Nebraska.

Christmas food for families and toys for children ages 12 and under.

For Christmas 2024:

Parents visit the Salvation Army in Hastings to sign up their families to receive toys and food. Signup starts Monday, November 4th, and continues through Friday, November 22nd, from 11 am-3 pm.

Applicant must call to make an appointment or sign up online at www.saangeltree.org

Bring photo ID, proof of address, proof of guardianship of children, and gift suggestions, as well as clothing sizes for the children.

Provides a Toys for Tots sign up during the holiday season. The program screens each applicant and checks with other organizations in the community to maximize the number of families helped during the holiday season and reduce the number of duplications.

Works in partnership with the US Marine Corp each year to offer the Toys for Tots program. Children must be age 12 or younger and reside in the household.

THANKSGIVING: Offering meat packages for Thanksgiving. Must sign up in advance to receive a package and to qualify, must have received services from the Bidwell Food Pantry in November, 2024. Only one meat package per household; options include turkey, ham, or chicken hindquarters.

Registration starts Nov. 1, 2024, or until the event is full. Registration is Monday through Friday 10 am- 4 pm. Not eligible if anyone in the household has received a Thanksgiving service from another DMARC pantry. If you receive a ham or chicken hindquarters, you are NOT eligible for a turkey, too. Valid photo ID for an adult must be presented to pick up ham, chicken, or turkey.


CHRISTMAS: A holiday meat package is available from December 11-22, 2024. Available on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last. No appointment needed. Holiday meat packages will be offered with the standard monthly food package. If you received your monthly food package before December 12, you can come to the pantry December 12-22 to receive the meat package.

To qualify, you must receive a food package from the Bidwell Pantry in December 2024. Not eligible if anyone in household has received a Holiday Service from another DMARC pantry. Only one holiday meat per household. You do not need to live in a specific zip code; residents of all counties are welcome.

Holiday baskets are offered seasonally, provided through local community support. Programs vary by location; call for information.

(Carroll County) Giving Tree/Toys for Tots forms are available at the Carroll Outreach Office starting October 17th. To be eligible, applicants must have primary custody of the children being signed up, must be a resident of Carroll County, have children ages 14 and under, and be on New Opportunities' programs. If applicant is approved, they will receive a letter specifying when unwrapped gifts may be picked up in December. Forms must be completed and returned to the Outreach Center on or before November 10th.]

Volunteers, community groups and local businesses donate materials, food, toys and skills for seasonal holiday projects for low-income families. Provides food packages and allowances to purchase clothes, shoes, coats, and household goods.

Projects vary annually and by county office. Community members may contact their county BVCA office for details about local holiday programs.

The pantry will be stocked with some holiday items for the 2024 holiday season, Monday-Friday from 9 am-11 am.

Thanksgiving Morning there will be an in-house Thanksgiving Meal at the Parish Center from 9 to 11. A traditional Thanksgiving Meal will be served.

There will be an in-house Christmas ham dinner with side dishes on Friday, December 20th in the Parish Center from 9 to 11.

Photo ID is required at the time of sign-up. Phone sign-ups are no longer accepted. Open to residents of the City of Davenport, Iowa. Only one voucher per address.

Offers help with laundry, gas, clothing, and Thanksgiving and Christmas assistance.

For Christmas 2023, a toy giveaway is being held Wednesday, December 13th, from 4 pm-6 pm at the First Presbyterian Church: 114 6th Avenue NW in Independence. Offers 2 gifts per child and stocking stuffers (as available). No late giveaways.

Households being adopted for Christmas through another agency, school, church, etc, are not eligible.

Proof of Buchanan County residency (utility bill, etc.) and valid driver's license/ID are required.

Holiday Food Basket Application begin October 1, 2025. Holiday baskets include holiday meal food items and a grocery gift card. Baskets are limited; clients who apply for a food basket from another agency are not eligible. First come, first served. Basket recipients will be notified via postcard or phone of pick-up details.

Application must be completed in-person during Food Pantry hours: Monday & Friday 9 am-12 pm. Families may select either Thanksgiving OR Christmas while supplies last. Please one ONE basket per family per year.
