Holiday baskets are offered seasonally, provided through local community support. Programs vary by location; call for information.

2025 Information:

Offers Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day meals at Crossroads Mission Avenue. Meals start at 1 pm.

For Christmas 2025:

Winter holiday celebration and activities, including gifts for children, free photos with Santa, face paintings, and more. Occurs annually in December.

Tickets will be available starting at the end of October until Nov 30, or until sold out. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased in advance only at Rising View’s leasing office (Offutt AFB).

Event is held Fri, December 5th, 2025, from 6 pm-8 pm, at the Offutt Event Center (formerly the Warhawk Community Center).

All children age 12 and under receive an age-appropriate gift.

This is not a public event. Event is open to enlisted Active Duty and enlisted Retired Service members and their families only. No entry without a ticket.

Holiday Assistance Program.

Holiday assistance for 2025 includes Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas gifts (for children up to age 18). Baskets are distributed via the MATURA Adams County Outreach Center.

THANKSGIVING BASKETS: Complete an application between (dates to be determined).

CHRISTMAS GIFTS: Applications are taken from (dates to be determined).

Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes and Christmas gift distribution for families in the Tri-City area, all on a registered basis.

Please note: To better process information in a timely manner, TSA asks that registrants bring all of the required documents with them at the time of registration. If residents do not have all the information requested, TSA will be unable to process their request. Also, please leave children at home with an adult due to the lengthy registration process.

Baskets containing food for a holiday meal and gifts for children ages 16 and under.

Distribution of baskets takes place the Wednesday the week prior to Christmas.

2026

Provides holiday foods shoppers can choose to cook a holiday meal. This is not a food basket or meal.

Groceries will be on a first-come, first served basis, December 16th-21st, 2026. There is no registration required. 

Volunteers, community groups and local businesses donate materials, food, toys and skills for seasonal holiday projects for low-income families. Provides food packages and allowances to purchase clothes, shoes, coats, and household goods.

Projects vary annually and by county office. Community members may contact their county BVCA office for details about local holiday programs.

For Christmas 2025:

Applications accepted November 3-November 21, 2025. Call to register: (712) 328-8122, Mon-Fri 9 am-11 am and 1 pm-3 pm.

Eligibility Requirements: Picture ID; must be a resident of Southwest Iowa; applicants may apply at one agency only. Agencies coordinate lists of applicants to ensure no duplication.

Christmas assistance is available through the Angel Tree program, which provides a Christmas dinner food box and toys for children ages 0-12.

For the 2025 Angel Tree program, call to make an appointment after October 20th. Application appointments are made in the first 2 weeks of November.

2025

Provides Christmas Dinner 2025 on Sunday December 21, 2025. Dinner go go boxes will be available for walk-up pick up at the front door from 12 pm-1:30 pm , follow the signs for vehicle pick at the side door on Dorgan Place. Delivery service will start at 11 am. Please call Brenda at (563) 583-1779, Mon-Thu from 7 am-3:30 pm to order a home delivered meal. Deadline to order is Wednesday December 17, 2025.

Holiday Families provides support to families during the holidays, in partnership with community organizations.

Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets are offered through some Mid-Sioux Opportunity outreach offices, as well as Christmas gift distribution programs. Dates and times vary by location. Families are encouraged to contact their local office for details.

2025

Provides seasonal meal boxes to families in need for the holidays. We pack and distribute 350 boxes in November for our Turkey Time Together event, and 350 in December for our Family! Feast! These boxes are available by signing up. Information will be provided on the website when availability begins.

December Family Feast - Registration will be available through the Holiday Food Box Collaborative form from November 17, 2025 to November 30, 2025 or until all 500 slots are filled.

Toys for Tots - Sign up opens November 3, 2025, online. For those who do not have an email or access to technology may sign up in person on November 17th and 18th. Distribution is at Salvation Army gym, and one parent does the shopping, individuals will get confirmation on date and times on when to come in to shop. 

Distribution dates are December 16th, 17th, and the 18th. With a make-up day of December 19th, 2025. 

Christmas gifts to children whose parents are incarcerated. Camping and Sports Camps offered to children whose parents are incarcerated.

The program is active for Christmas 2025; the parent(s) in prison must register through their prison chaplain.

Local families partner with families in need to provide personalized holiday assistance, potentially including toys/gifts, and meals.

Holiday program offering shoes, mittens, hats and socks for children.

Registration starts in early October and end November 15th, 2025. The event is held Saturday, December 6th, from 9 am-1 pm. Location is 3100 West 4th Street, Sioux City, IA. 

There will be no pre-registration, and the event will take walk-ins only. This will be on a first-come, first-served basis and only while supplies last. Shoes will not be given out before or after this event. Child must be present at the event to be fitted with shoes and in kindergarten - 8th grade. 

Thanksgiving 2025

Offering a thanksgiving community meal on Thanksgiving Day 11 am-1 pm.

Christmas 2025 

Offering Christmas assistance through the angel tree program, for registering in person must visit main office on November 4th, 5th, and 6th. May register online on November 13th. 

To register, you will need to bring: photo I.D. and social security card for head of household, and social security card for household members ages 13 and older, birth certificates for each child ages 0-12; current piece of mail from the last 30 days proving they live in Jasper County and a working phone number. Christmas food and toy distribution are for families with children from newborn to 12 years old

Provides Christmas 2025 assistance for referred individuals 62 or older and the disabled who may be in need or alone at Christmas. Applications may be picked up November 1-21, 2025. Must be turned in on or before November 21, 2025.
