Holiday programs.

Holiday assistance programs vary by location and by funding available. Clients are encouraged to call their local office for details.

Provides a meal box which includes a turkey and all the fixings. Each box feeds a family of 4.

For Christmas 2025:

Angel Tree - Families can register online to receive toys for children up to age 18. Registration open as of Oct 7, 2025, and closes Dec 8, 2025. Website: www.saangeltree.org

Registration for Christmas Distribution begins the first Monday of October and ends on the 2nd Monday in December each year. Go to SAAngelTree.org

Offers a Toys for Tots sign ups. Toys for Tot sign-ups held November 1 through December 4, 2025. Can only sign children up that are 14 years old and under. The church will reach back out to registered clients and let them know when and where the pick up will be.

Christmas 2025:

Christmas assistance registration opens Oct 14, 2025. Offers Christmas food baskets and the Angel Tree Program.

-- Nemaha County - 12/20/24 11 am-4 pm. Gift card pick up at the Auburn Christian Church.

-- Johnson County - 12/16/2024. All day pickup (8 am-4 pm) of gift cards in Tecumseh office.

-- Pawnee County - 12/18/2024 9AM - 11:30 am and 1 pm-3:30 pm. Pick up of food and gift cards in the Community Room at the Village Apartments.

Local families partner with families in need to provide personalized holiday assistance, potentially including toys/gifts, and meals.

Giving Tree provides Christmas presents for children.

For Christmas 2025, Giving Tree registration forms are available at the pantry starting Mon, Oct 7, 2025. Same-day application at the pantry is preferred. Deadline to submit forms is Wed, Nov 19.

For Christmas 2025:

Provides a holiday a food basket and gifts for children.

Starting Oct 1, 2025, and ending Nov 26, 2025, applications will be accepted by same-day appointment only. No applications accepted after Nov 26.

Applicants must bring proof of income for everyone in the household.

Volunteers, community groups and local businesses donate materials, food, toys and skills for seasonal holiday projects for low-income families. Provides food packages and allowances to purchase clothes, shoes, coats, and household goods.

Projects vary annually and by county office. Community members may contact their county BVCA office for details about local holiday programs.

Offers new gifts to children ages newborn to 12 years old just in time for the holidays every year. When funds allow, gift cards will be given to each family to purchase food for a holiday meal, or we provide food items such as a ham or turkey and canned goods.

Christmas food for families and toys for children ages 12 and under.

Christmas 2025:

Parents visit the Salvation Army in Hastings to sign up their families to receive toys and food. Sign-up starts Mon, Nov 3 and ends Tue, November 25.

Collects toys and distributes them to needy families. Children ages 0-14 are eligible.

For Christmas 2025:

Applications will open Saturday, November 15th, 2025

Applications will close at 5 pm on Monday, December 10th, 2025.


Distribution details:

Date: Saturday, December 20th, 2025, at 9 am-2 pm

Provides Christmas 2025 assistance for referred individuals 62 or older and the disabled who may be in need or alone at Christmas.

Applications may be picked up November 1-21, 2025. Must be turned in on or before November 21, 2025.

Holiday program offering shoes, mittens, hats and socks for children.

Registration starts in early October and end November 15th, 2025. The event is held Saturday, December 6th, from 9 am-1 pm. Location is 3100 West 4th Street, Sioux City, IA.

There will be no pre-registration, and the event will take walk-ins only. This will be on a first-come, first-served basis and only while supplies last. Shoes will not be given out before or after this event. Child must be present at the event to be fitted with shoes and in kindergarten - 8th grade.

Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes and Christmas gift distribution for families in the Tri-City area, all on a registered basis.

Please note: To better process information in a timely manner, TSA asks that registrants bring all of the required documents with them at the time of registration. If residents do not have all the information requested, TSA will be unable to process their request. Also, please leave children at home with an adult due to the lengthy registration process.

For 2025:

Community dinner on Thanksgiving Day, 12 pm-3 pm. Call to request delivery.


Sign up for Christmas food boxes and toys for children before December 1, 2025. Visit the Salvation Army at 120 South 7th Street. Applicants must bring driver's license and proof of children in their home (insurance cards, Medicaid Cards, school IDs).

Christmas gifts and food in partnership with county partners.

For Christmas 2025:

As of 11/20/25, no longer accepting applications but community members may still call and see if the office might have extra gift cards to Dollar Fresh and Family Fare grocery stores in Richardson County for food for the families (distributed on December 14th).

Holiday Gift and Food Basket applications may be picked up at the SENCA office in Falls City or Humboldt, starting October 28th, 2024. No applications will be accepted after November 15th at 4 pm.

For Christmas 2025:

Provides wrapped gifts and other treats and goodies for children ages 3-12 residing in the Quad Cities area.

Registration begins Nov 3rd, 2025 (11:30 am-12:30 pm); visit the website for additional details.

Provides gifts and a food box for families that live in Jones county that have children 12 years of age and younger that live in their household. Registration deadline is Nov. 30, 2025. To register visit our office to get a form.

For Christmas Food for 2025, signup dates are:

- 11/19 - 5 pm-8 pm

- 12/3 - 5 pm-8 pm

- 12/6 - 10 am-4 pm

- One signup per household.

- Sign up for food at the Kearney Salvation Army (North doors) at 1719 Central Ave, Kearney. Signing up for toys is a separate process.

For Christmas Toys for 2025:

- Angel Tree is live for signups, as of Oct 2, 2025. Must live in Buffalo County. Sign up at www.saangeltree.org

- The sign-up is for children ages 18 and under.

- Registration deadline to be determined.

Provides gifts to foster families by seeking donations or monetary donations used to purchase gifts, for children. Services include gift wrapping and delivering the gifts to the foster parents before Christmas day. Program may also provide gifts to adult residential clients. Will provide letter of thanks for donation for tax purposes.

2025 Information:

Offers Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day meals at Crossroads Mission Avenue. Meals start at 1 pm.
