For Christmas 2023:

Holiday Gift & Food Basket applications may be picked up at the SENCA office in Falls City or Humboldt, starting October 24th. No applications will be accepted after November 13th at 4 pm.

Pick-up dates for baskets and gifts:
For both Falls City and Humboldt programs, applicants will be called to schedule a pick-up time.

Volunteers, community groups and local businesses donate materials, food, toys and skills for seasonal holiday projects for low-income families. Provides food packages and allowances to purchase clothes, shoes, coats, and household goods.

Projects vary annually and by county office. Community members may contact their county BVCA office for details about local holiday programs.
Food for emergencies. Donations accepted from area churches, groups, and schools.

Free food pantry outside front door of Hickman Presbyterian Church also available at 300 East 3rd Street in Hickman.

Grandparents are invited to shop every other year for their grandchildren during the holiday season. Grandchildren must be 10 years old or younger.

Registration is late November. Contact Good Neighbor Community Center or visit the website for dates and times when posted.

Provides toys at Christmastime for low-income children, as well as a food voucher.

Sign Up opens November 1, 2024 Visit the website and select a county to find signup locations in the area. For those who do not have an e-mail or access to technology, there will be in-person sign up on November 9th at the Salvation Army, 747 Village Green Drive, Mason City IA on the Eastside of Menards.

For Christmas 2024, Giving Tree registration forms are available at the pantry starting Mon, Oct 7. Same-day application at the pantry is preferred. Deadline to submit forms is Wed, Nov 20.

Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas toy assistance for 2023 is as follows:

Thanksgiving basket applications will be taken from October 2, 2023 - November 12, 2023. Basket pickup will be November 17, 2023.

Children's Christmas gifts sign-up is October 18, 2023 - December 4, 2023. Pickup dates will be December 18-20,2023. We will call families regarding pickup dates and times.

Holiday baskets are offered seasonally, provided through local community support. Programs vary by location; call for information.

For Thanksgiving 2023:

Applications for Thanksgiving Food Packages must be picked up and completed at local offices; call for dates. (Carroll County: must be returned by November 3rd; Calhoun County: must be returned by November 10th)

For Christmas 2023:

(Carroll County) Giving Tree/Toys for Tots forms are available at the Carroll Outreach Office starting October 17th. To be eligible, applicants must have primary custody of the children being signed up, must be a resident of Carroll County, have children ages 14 and under, and be on New Opportunites' programs. If applicant is approved, they will receive a letter specifying when unwrapped gifts may be picked up in December. Forms must be completed and returned to the Outreach Center on or before Novemer 10th.

Coordinates Angel Tree for adults and children every year for the Christmas holiday. Come in to the food pantry to register from November 1, 2023, through December 15, 2023. Must be resident of the cities of Slater or Sheldahl.

Offers a food pantry to those in need who live within the communities of Slater and Sheldahl. Food voucher given to be redeemed at Town and Country Market in Slater only.

For Christmas 2024:

Children's Holiday Gifts allows children and their parents to come together and enjoy the spirit of the holiday with treats, activities and presents.

Every December the MLK Center provides wrapped gifts for Quad Cities-area children aged 3-12. Visit the website for details.

Food baskets provided in December. Call Saturday, November 2, 2024, 9 am-1:30 pm to register. Call on this date only.

Offers gifts and food to those in need for the Christmas 2024 holiday. Reach out to the local County Outreach Office for more information regarding holiday help in the area.

Palo Alto County Outreach may provide holiday food boxes during Thanksgiving 2024 as well, depending on donations.

For Christmas 2023:

SENCA is only providing food baskets for those clients requesting them. There are no eligibility requirements to receive a food basket from SENCA.

For Christmas 2023:

Applications accepted November 1-November 22. Call to register, (712) 328-8122, Monday thru Friday 9 am-11 am and 1 pm-3 pm.

Eligibility Requirements: Picture ID; must be a resident of Southwest Iowa; applicants may apply at one agency only. Agencies coordinate lists of applicants to ensure no duplication.

2024 - Offers a free Christmas dinner on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024. Served from 11:30 am-1:30 pm. Offers dine in, carry out, or delivery within Vinton. Reservations requested. The last day for reservations will be December 23th. To make reservations, call (319) 472-3766 Mon-Fri from 9 am-12

For Delivery, we will need your name, phone number, and address of where you would like your meal delivered. No more than 3 meals per household, please.

For Pick up, we will need your name, time you will pick up the meal/s and the number of meals.

Matches low-income families with organizations that want to adopt a family for Christmas. Families provide a list of the wants/needs of the children. Registration runs November 1-3, 2024, from 10 am-4 pm and on November 4, 2024, from 10 am-2 pm.

THANKSGIVING: Offering meat packages for Thanksgiving. Must sign up in advance to receive a package and to qualify, must have received services from the Bidwell Food Pantry in November, 2024. Only one meat package per household; options include turkey, ham, or chicken hindquarters.

Registration starts Nov. 1, 2024, or until the event is full. Registration is Monday through Friday 10 am- 4 pm. Not eligible if anyone in the household has received a Thanksgiving service from another DMARC pantry. If you receive a ham or chicken hindquarters, you are NOT eligible for a turkey, too. Valid photo ID for an adult must be presented to pick up ham, chicken, or turkey.


CHRISTMAS: A holiday meat package is available from December 11-22, 2024. Available on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last. No appointment needed. Holiday meat packages will be offered with the standard monthly food package. If you received your monthly food package before December 12, you can come to the pantry December 12-22 to receive the meat package.

To qualify, you must receive a food package from the Bidwell Pantry in December 2024. Not eligible if anyone in household has received a Holiday Service from another DMARC pantry. Only one holiday meat per household. You do not need to live in a specific zip code; residents of all counties are welcome.
