There are two options for a meal - a homemade meal offered at the facility on the holiday or, can provide a Christmas dinner box to struggling families. Community dinner on Thanksgiving Day, 12 pm-3 pm. Call to request delivery.

Sign up for Christmas food boxes and toys for children before December 1, 2025. Visit the Salvation Army at 120 South 7th Street. Applicants must bring driver's license and proof of children in their home (insurance cards, Medicaid Cards, school IDs). Christmas food baskets/toys handed out on December 20, 2025, to those that registered.

Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets are offered through some Mid-Sioux Opportunity outreach offices, as well as Christmas gift distribution programs. Dates and times vary by location. Families are encouraged to contact their local office for details.

Provides curbside distribution of holiday provisions for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Offering thanksgiving baskets for families in need on Monday, November 24th, 2025, during regular hours as supplies last. Baskets include a turkey, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, stuffing mix, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, sweet potatoes, pie, green beans, and a roasting pan. Donations of any amount are appreciated.

Please note: To better process information in a timely manner, TSA asks that registrants bring all of the required documents with them at the time of registration. If residents do not have all the information requested, TSA will be unable to process their request. Also, please leave children at home with an adult due to the lengthy registration process.

For Thanksgiving & Christmas 2025: The 2025 Thanksgiving Food Basket Giveaway is held at the PCM Help Center (6800 P Street, Lincoln) on Saturday, 11/22/25. Giving away 500 Thanksgiving meal baskets to those in need, beginning at 9 am until supplies run out.

Free Thanksgiving meal Thanksgiving Day 2025 at People's City Mission (110 Q Street, Lincoln). Serving a full Thanksgiving meal to not only all of the homeless in Lincoln, but to anyone who would otherwise be alone on Thanksgiving and could use a meal. Serving at 11 am-2 pm on Thanksgiving Day. Expecting to serve around 700 meals.

Santa’s Workshop Christmas Toy Giveaway for families in need will be held at the People's City Mission Help Center (6800 P Street, Lincoln) on Saturday, 12/13/25 from 10 am-12 pm. Anticipating to help over 5,000 people, including shelter guests and low-income families who shop at the Help Center. Shoppers will need to have a Clarity card to participate. Clarity cards can be obtained at the Help Center each Tuesday from 9-11 am. No appointment necessary.

2025

Provides seasonal meal boxes to families in need for the holidays. We pack and distribute 350 boxes in November for our Turkey Time Together event, and 350 in December for our Family! Feast! These boxes are available by signing up. Information will be provided on the website when availability begins.

December Family Feast - Registration will be available through the Holiday Food Box Collaborative form from November 17, 2025 to November 30, 2025 or until all 500 slots are filled.

Offering a drive-thru Thanksgiving and Christmas meal. Then a food basket is offered after the meal, generally distributed the Friday before the holidays. Please call ahead for information on meals. 

Thanksgiving meal - November 21st at 2 pm

Christmas Meal - December 19th at 2 pm 

Offers Thanksgiving dinners to individuals in need who do not have a place to go and would like to spend time with others within the community. No reservations are required to attend the dinner.

Drive-thru-only pantry held two Saturdays each month, and a pop-up outdoor pantry each Monday (food only). Offers perishable and non-perishable items, fresh produce, cleaning supplies, diapers, and laundry detergent washing sheets for 20 loads of laundry.

For Thanksgiving 2025, Thanksgiving pantry is Thu, Nov 20, starting 10 am.

For Christmas 2025, Christmas pantry is Mon, Dec 22, starting 11 am.

Offering Christmas assistance through the angel tree program, for registering in person must visit main office on November 4th, 5th, and 6th. May register online on November 13th. 

To register, you will need to bring: photo I.D. and social security card for head of household, and social security card for household members ages 13 and older, birth certificates for each child ages 0-12; current piece of mail from the last 30 days proving they live in Jasper County and a working phone number. Christmas food and toy distribution are for families with children from newborn to 12 years old

Holiday baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas For eligible families, a holiday food basket will be prepared upon request. Visit in person to register for a food basket. Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets (Signup Dates are November 1st through November 27th, 2025)
